Sorry, but I got definite wicked stepmother vibes from the woman in your story. This is why you do not date single moms. Her child/children will always come first to her, and that is before even you. You dodged a major bullet because she would have turned your home into a far less than heavenly place. You didn't love her, you loved who you THOUGHT she was. Move on and move away from this one, there are better options out there with less baggage.

Tried the instant family thing once. Her two kids were disrespectful and demanding. When I tried to correct their behavior, she informed me that they were her kids and I had no business telling them to behave. She was asked to leave shortly thereafter.
