An idea for playoffs: You get to play each quarter twice throughout the series (meaning that you can play the first quarter 2x, second quarter 2x...) giving you only 8 quarters to play and also so you don't just play the end and clutch up everytime (maybe only get 1 or 2 OT's per series as well)
