German lawmakers have voted to legalize cannabis for private consumption. The new legislation allows the limited legal availability of cannabis, but with numerous rules, regulations and restrictions. The government says the main goal of the bill is to crack down on the black market and drugs-related crime. But the move faced considerable opposition from medical associations, the judiciary and opposition politicians.

non germans can not fully understand how big this realy is, we are a country where people have it rly hard to change theyre mind, even when presented evidence that they are wrong. The fact we now made it at least so far that consumers no longer have to feel like criminals is HUGE

Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.

In The Netherlands using of cannabis is allowed for decades. We don’t use it more, most people try it and leave it, some use it just sometimes. Heavy users are rare. In mine town the no trouble is connected to cannabis, if there is a problem it’s always related to alcohol.

any politician that argues the health consequences of weed, while booze is legal, is just being a politician.

For anyone non German: In Germany you are allowed to drink beer at the age of 14 if your parents allow it and that is something you should keep in mind.
  • I don't smoke personally but I don't think it should of ever been illegal anywhere.

I have legalized it for myself. I live in Finland, hemp was very important cultivation plant here, first marks of hemp have found here 6000 years ago, they banned it 1960 and the one and only Finnish landrace hemp was destroyed 100% 😢

As an American who lives in a legal state it is just laughable we haven't legalized it yet federally when its decriminalizated in 80% of the country & legal in over 53%.
