...and the damage dealt by the debuff doesn't care about your shield either :/
Doing vet Maw of Lorkhaj final boss, Rakkhat hardmode here.

Explanation: the meteors (the red circles on the ground) do alot of damage and as I was walking out of the damage field my ping jumped to 250+ and I still got the damage althou I wasn't standing in it on my screen.
What actually killed me was the bebuff which Rei got, as soon as we entered backyard. The debuff is a aoe dot which damages every player near you, it's usually not enough dps to kill somebody but in this case we just had alot of bad luck since the meteors got me low and the debuff bypasses any shields.
