Slow living isn’t a trend for me. It's a lifestyle I have embraced for years; I learned it from my mom and grandma. We always just took our time to enjoy the beauty of the everyday. I’m a romantic at heart, with a practical lifestyle approach to “keep it simple.” I grew up on a farm, which furthered my love of simplicity and back to the basics mindset.

We moved six months ago to our cozy cottage, and we are in the process of fixing it up. I strive to make our home cozy and inviting no matter what remodeling stage we are in. Making a home hygge and cozy is just a normal way of life for me, and I can’t imagine it any other way.

  • I can’t wait to continue to watch you as you have new adventures. It’s not the house or the home that you lived in. It’s the way you present your life in your home and how you love your family and how you just enjoy your daily task of creating a warm environment. That’s what we love about your channel.
  • @DierdreV
Please keep us with you as you journey, your way of being is what I would miss the most. Cozy mess, beautiful reno, or tiny apt, it's you that gives it's glow. Your family are quite blessed to have you. Please keep sharing that blessing with us. Enjoy this season of life!
  • @Jenny-mo8bu
Oh, I'm so glad you've decided to continue your channel. I would miss it so much. It's wonderful to see you again and I'm excited for you and your new adventure!!
  • @HerCupOfCOZY
Abby Jo!! You are making the right move.... even for me, as an Italian, I miss my home so much but I'd do anything for my kids. You'll never regret putting family first... Sending you prayers and I'm very much looking forward to more updates 🙏😘

No, don't change the name of your channel! I love it! There are at least 3 very popular channels that I can think of whose channel name no longer applies to them but they've kept it. It's your brand at this point; don't overthink it. Plus, lots of people have "farm" in their name and have never truly farmed or even garden for that matter--mainly just cooking. I hope to see you continue on your journey. Your pourable pot pie crust with turkey pot pie has become a staple in my home, especially freezer meals!
  • Yes, having grandkids changes everything! Family is SO important! Best wishes to you and your family!
  • I’m shifting too. Don’t stop doing YouTube! Your voice is soothing to listen to. Take your break, get settled in and we will see you when we see you!🫶🏻 Best wishes on your next chapter.
  • Your home turned out incredible, so beautiful!! The kitchen is dreamy. But I sure understand that family is a much bigger priority. I hope your next adventure is blessed and wonderful.

I'm so happy to see you back on YouTube! I've missed your videos. We share a passion for books and dishes and a cozy, simple lifestyle. I'm looking forward to seeing how you make your next house a home. God bless you and your family on this journey, and thank you for continuing your channel. 💐😊

Hi Abby Jo. I was shocked to know that your home was a double wide, not there is anything wrong with that but all your renovations turned it into a quaint cottage. How exciting for you all to be moving closer to each other. If you have family you love, spending time with them is so important. Life is way too short. I am so happy for you all.

Kids moving away and grandkids change everything. Good for you for taking the time to get organized for the move! You'll be so glad you did! Looking forward to going with you on your new chapter!!!
  • @christinecraze
Missed you so much! Thanks to you, when we were moving, and I thought Id be leaving my old sideboard, which Id spruced up and used as a master bedroom dresser, behind. I had no room in my new bedroom for it. Then I saw your video, where you painted yours a brilliant green, removed the doors, added a bucher block countertop, and used it in the kitchen. Not only did I chalk paint ours blue and use it in our new location kitchen, but i took most of my inspiration from how you had set up yours. We downsized and moved to another state too and completely gutted an old single wide. It seemed more possible having your videos to watch. I LOVE your channel

I've missed your videos! So glad to know everyone is well, and your absence was because of changes. I'll be praying for your family on your move and decisions for your future. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

No matter where you live your content is always going to calm and inspire, it’s always going to draw us to the beauty of everyday life and the value of simplicity. ❤ Goodness…the tour was wonderful. As always you guys knocked it out of the park. I am looking forward to the next installment of your beautiful life! ❤
  • Abby Jo, how good it is to see you again! You all have been missed. Best wishes on this new journey. You have left many lovely touches for those who will call this house home. You do cozy so well~ please continue to share it with us. It makes the season extra special. 🥰
  • @Anne-Kristy
I felt like something significant was going on and I’ve been praying. So good to see you. 🌞🌻
  • @susanekins8580
Abby Jo, best wishes to you and your family. I will continue to follow you. As others have said, I watch the videos because I enjoy you and your lifestyle, with homemade cooking, tea breaks, slow living, etc. I missed your videos and look forward to future ones.
  • @kayakgirl4445
Abby Jo, you and Daniel and your children did an amazing renovation of this home. But when seeing it now, devoid of all your beautiful cosy collected furnishings, I have a sense that all the heart and soul has already gone out of it! Your focus is now on your next move to be closer to other members of your family, showing the truth that “home is where the heart ❤️ is”. I hope and pray that you will find the best new home in Kansas for your family, and look forward to seeing how you creatively transform it into something uniquely to your taste. It’s good to know that we’ll still see you on YouTube and be able to follow your explorations of minimalism/maximalism and forgotten ways. You might not need to change the title of your channel much - if you are no longer farming, it could just become “Forgotten Way Homes”. Thanks for sharing your journey thus far. You are inspirational!💗
  • I was just thinking I had not heard your voice for a while. You are a comfort to listen to you. I have been a fan for awhile. I don't comment very often but just letting you know how much I want to thank you for sharing your life with us. I get you need to be closer to grandkids...they are blessings and you need to enjoy them and be the Grandma to them like you had. Good luck on the sale and the move.
