‘Lot of uncertainty’: Heightened inflation putting pressure on the economy

Deutsche Bank Chief Economist Phil O’Donaghoe says there is a “lot of uncertainty” surrounding Australia’s economic climate.

“The RBA is seeing heightened inflation pressures, relative to their forecast,” he told Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd.

“We just don’t know where they’re going to land for Q2, and I think it’s going to be critical for the upcoming RBA board meeting.”

  • The only inflation going on here, are the egos of Albo, Bowen and Chalmers. Unfortunately we're all paying for it.
  • @Grybyx
Albo couldn't care, the minorities are his only concern. I have voted ALP every year since '83. Albo, you have forgotten hard workers like me and I'm going to forget voting for you next year!
  • @Deano00777
What!! You mean raising the cash rate to 4.35% wasn’t high enough to stop 8% inflation lol😂
  • @dpitt1516
ALbo wont cut the fuel excise to lower cost of goods - he must really want that next undeserved raise he's planning on giving himself :)
  • @mikerowe3849
RBA gambling with peoples lives instead of doing what needs to be done
  • We cant cut rates because we have poor government at the moment. The sooner Albo is voted out the better.
  • Hooray we just got to know THAT ALBOSLEEZY IS HEAD OF THE AUSTRALIAN MAFIA
  • @jessekoch3480
If it's so good, why is Australia ranked 88th on productivity. Easy, there isn't any.
  • @GrandpaVince
The only uncertainty we want is the uncertain feeling when you bite into a dingo pie, is the dingo still alive?
  • @SOz-uf5yq
LOL. When we have Charles's head on our $1 coin > What do you expect. < lol. TIME TO SAY > WE COME FIRST > BEFORE ANYTHING <
  • @Lounge-ve5mb
Rate rises will be August 2024, October or November 2024. Third possible by April 2024. Do the math.
  • @sensaznal
After the next rate rise , Albo should immediately call the next election.
  • Thank you Jim Chalmers and Anfony Albanese….economic extraordinaires….the country has never been worse off.
