You forgot to mention that e killer can also hold a different item since it doesn’t need the plate which is very helpful

Arceus is such a cool pokemon. you can build an ubers team without it, then you can just slap in an arceus to patch any holes it has. It’s amazing in how versatile it can be

At least Extreme-killer Arceus has remained pretty consistent over the years, especially in Gen 9 where it can use the Tera-Normal extremespeed combo

I like how the literal God of everything cannot command wind to remove some random rocks, hazards really are god tier threats
  • @Surge_N_Destroy
Arceus Normal also has access to an item which makes it so versatile.

Watching stone edge miss every time you talk about it has me dying laughing. Fuck that move.
  • >Says and talks about Stone Edge >Actually shows Rock Slide >Doesnt matter, still misses LMAO
  • @DaDMonDCB
I love him showing stone edge/rockslide and it missing while being good options with Ground. XD

You know, there IS one more form of Arceus, but it's locked behind its signature item in its own game. Yup, I'm talking the Legend Plate which you get once you complete the Hisui Dex and defeat/catch Arceus. Here's what the Legend Plate does: When given to Arceus, it starts as a Normal-Type. The twist is that when using Judgement, Arceus will automatically change its type to whatever is super-effective against the target. I'm just saying...if we have to live with Calyrex-Shadow going Tera Fairy, why not implement the Legend Plate in the mainline games to let Arceus change its type every time it uses Judgement? It might be too much for Ubers, but with Ubers specifically, I say screw order, I want chaos!
  • I play the Ubers UU tier, and some forms are insanely good in the format. We only have Normal, Ground, and Fairy banned via usage, and the majority of the banned mons are Arc forms. Arceus Water, Steel, and Flying were banned for being way too good defensively, and Arceus Ghost and especially Fire were extremely strong offensively, mainly due to them being very good Ekiller forms without Normal being around. Currently Arceus isn't super common, Arc Dark being the most used for utility purposes.

To elaborate on the part of good forms depending on the meta, Arceus-Fire is far from the best in singles Ubers, only being oppressive in Ubers UU where many of its would-be answers are banned by usage. However, in Doubles Ubers, the power of the Koraidon-Groudon core makes Arceus-Fire one of the best forms, where its natural bulk, utility and access to a strong sun-boosted spread move in Heat Wave make it the perfect partner for the dual sun setters. It helps that Kyogre is at its lowest point due to the presence of both bike dragons who resist its Water moves and either replace its rain with sun (without having to get out immediately or Tera on the rain like Groudon) or threaten to OHKO it or force a Tera, on a move that nothing that isn't immune wants to take either, making sun-boosted Fire STAB harder than ever to withstand.

Something interesting to mention is that in gen 7, z-crystals also changed arceus’ type, giving it access to a z-move, but at the cost of not having the 20% type boost from the plate. although idk if any did use it because i didn’t play Ubers back then, it’s just something i found on my own.
  • I love how the types fit into their theming Fairy being a trickster, spreading status and being a lil goober Ground being strong and offensive, using rocks to jts advantage Then theres just water who likes the burn. Dammit

One thing I always found a bit funny about Arceus is that it has the stats for a gameplay niche we don’t see much. Which is a fast wall. Fast Pokémon usually are super frail and defensive Pokémon usually not fast. While you can EV some defensive mons to be a bit faster and some fast Pokémon to be a bit sturdier, they will still lag behind in these categories next to Pokémon more dedicated to these niches. Arceus is the only one that can do both and not underperform in either stat when compared to other Pokémon of similar strength.
