In this Fallout 4 lore video, I discuss the unnamed APC design found in the commonwealth, starting with some theory crafting to give the vehicle a name. Then I dive into the known specifications and attempt to derive a few of the unknown. Then I talk about what I liked, disliked, and what I found to be interesting.

Thanks so much for the support on my previous video, and hopefully on this one!

Thank you so much for your support on my previous video! I can't believe it has over 100k views now, that's just insane! Now that I know so many of you fine people are watching, I really put my all into this chat about the unnamed fallout APC. I hope you enjoy.
  • There's a slightly different version of this "APC" in Fallout 76, as a skin for the portable survival tent. Among other things it actually has tracks instead of wheels and a much smaller cannon.

I wouldn't mind seeing you do a breakdown on the crazy train from fallout 4, that thing is nuts and apparently entirely automated. makes me wonder if they would still be limping along if the track was in better shape.
  • I’d love to see the Aircraft Carrier that was turned into Rivet city in fallout 3. Despite the fact it was cracked in half and all that, it should be doable.
  • Looks like an amphibious vehicle also, but these medium gun vans look like they would work exceptionally well to support the tanks from the previous video
  • In fallout 76 you can have a tent setup that is an APC, but instead of the 3 wheels it has a track configuration, maybe it’s an improved variant of the standard apc
  • The top mounted cannon might be a low pressure gun, which has historically been fitted to light, wheeled vehicles to avoid pushing themselves over.
  • I always figured the ball turrets were concealing machineguns under armored jackets.
  • don't know why but when that Sugar Bomb commercial rolled in i believe that yeah i'd see the marketing team raiding dentists office at gunpoint for them to approve the product.
  • I really enjoy seeing these sort of fanon takes on fallout vehicles. Because of how the games aren't super-focused on them, it's interesting to kind of imagine how they operated and also what others may have existed.

The amount of effort put into the editing along with the niche lore dump earned you a sub. It's rare to see a new channel posting such quality content, good luck!
  • Great analysis man!! You're right that there's no real-world direct analogue to this, but I would say the M75 APC is the closest real-life approximation. Kind of an obscure vehicle but in the 50's it was this oversized APC meant for a nuclear battlefield, but ultimately scrapped bc it was a massive target. Not really useful for carrying troops

In FO76, if you follow highway 90 north from the vault you will find an APC with the number 1370220. Could be a serial number or model number. Also, the vans give some indication they are Chryslus.
  • Riot suppression was definitely a major use for this vehicle, especially since power armor was very commonly used for crowd control. Considering there doesn’t seem to be any space to store ammo for the ball or dorsal turrets, they were probably energy-based and drew power directly from the on-board reactor. The gun ports not being present on the interior is probably just a minor oversight, mirelurks were supposed to have visible gills but they got covered on the model and forgotten about.

The name Hermit kinda grew on me :). Please continue these! This series has so much potential! Maybe you could do the corvega models or any sort of civilian models? Edit: I just realized the ball guns could look like crab eyes! I’m totally going with Hermit.
  • I'd love to see you do the trains next, mainly the oversized steam engine like one found in 4 and 76.
  • Someone already mentioned the weird train locomotive so I'm going to suggest those crashed flying wing passenger planes you can find.
  • I like the name🤣. Would have been cool to see a unique hermit crab using one of them as a shell.
  • I love videos examining fictional tanks and fighting vehicles, like this and some of Spookston's videos
