Thank you - love the free style

Most "liberating" video ever! Sketching architecture is always so daunting but with this video one can see how 'accuracy' is not the point at all - it's all about capturing a feeling, the bits that captured ones attention and hype those up. Thank you for this!!

I love when I get treated to a free Ian class. Lucky me. Love your work

Toll!
So inspirierend. Hat einfach eine einmalige Herangehensweise. Und hier mal so locker & schnell & "wonky". Fantastisch! Ich will mir sofort mein Skizzenbuch schnappen. Danke 🤗

Thanks, Ian!!! LOVE this looseness...a real encouragement to hold my bridges and pens less tightly and to embrace the wonky!! At the moment I'm unable to travel (90 year old in laws are our priority). I can get some practice in doing pictures from photos with a 15 minute limit.

It is very impressive how apparently random elements (at the beginning) can create an amazing sketch at the end. Also the way you understand the perspective without using straight lines it's just amazing! 👏👏
  • @hahnunju
This guy is incredibly creative and skillful!
  • @toshabeans
Love that these were nowhere near accurate but still beautiful in their representational nature. I also enjoyed that you used the tones and then added lines rather than doing the lines and then filling in the tones. I'm new to urban sketching and most of the videos I've watched started with the lines and then filled in the tones. Thanks for showing how to be really relaxed about it, because this shouldn't be stress-inducing, but relaxing and expressive ❤
  • @lfarnham6990
What a wonderful loose but accurate style you've developed. Thanks for posting this.
  • @user-jn1kj9pl2u
This man called out my lack of creativity in so many langueges😂😂
  • @TheAnkstar
Wie ihm Perspektive und gerade Linien einfach mal so egal sind und die Sketches trotzdem Tiefe haben. Ich knie nieder!
  • @timspicer2596
He's spot on about the wasps here in Germany. My son has been stung 4 times in two summers and is now scared shitless of the bloody things.
  • Great video Ian,ooh your drawings are just fab, have subscribed, you make it look so easy.
  • So glad you used „Tombow“ brushe pens, now I know another way to use my „grey“ set. Will take them into Cologne as there are similar buildings there too. So do like your sketches. Thanks.
