July Garden Tour | Installing a New Well Pump at the Cabin

2024-07-27に共有
It's time to address recent water issues we've been dealing with at the cabin. We investigate what could be the cause of our low water pressure and ultimately make the decision to replace the current submersible well pump. After a quick trip to Fairbanks for parts and installing the new well pump, our water problems are a thing of the past. Watering the garden and doing laundry are just a few of the tasks that we rely on having adequate pressure for.

Although our 2024 garden is still under construction, we felt July is a great time to show the progress of this year's growth far. Warm feta salad, sourdough focaccia and caribou tenderloin make for a superb summer evening meal. There's a lot to be grateful for, good food and water are just two of the many.

We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀

Missouri...HOT, humid, rains when it feels like it. In spring it rains almost every day, then it stops and basically sneers at you when your plants are wilting and screaming for water in the 100 degree + heat. ARGH! Oh to be back in northern MN or Alaska, but too old and can't take the cold anymore. Ariel, your videography is majestic! Eric, your cooking is enviable. Thank you so much for allowing us to live vicariously through you. Hugs to Bandit and Smokey. Shalom and Blessings to you all.
  • I will say it over and over again. I never miss your videos. You inspired me to start garding in zone 5b in Mass and I haven't stopped. Love how you two work together and support each other. I look forward to the updates on Saturday.
  • Eric "the water pressure is low...no worries I will dismantle the entire cabin and replace everything under it then make it more improved and then put it all back..this will take a good hour!" YOU 2 are freaking beasts!!

Ariel, you should host a garden show or write a book. You certainly know your stuff. You go girl.
  • I live in Beaverton Oregon and I never miss one of your videos. What I love most is that you do life together, no matter what it is, you're doing it together. You have no idea how refreshing it is to see real love and companionship. I'm 54yrs old and I hope to have my own "Eric" one day, you both inspire me. Thank you for sharing your life with us. ❤
  • My favorite married couple is on . I just love the way you two do things as a team I appreciate watching you guys.❤️
  • You two are like wilderness gourmet cooks! I'm always impressed with the meals you create from things you've hunted/fished/foraged or grown! Kudos! 🙌👍👏
  • I love the flowers! It's incredible that something so simple could bring so much joy everyday. Excellent job at replacing the water pump. You two never cease to impress me. Thank you for another great video!

Now I watch your videos immediately and then watch them again with my caregiver from Ukraine. ❤😊❤ She loves you as much as I do. She grew up making everything from scratch (cheese, yogurt, butter, cottage cheese, cream cheese, etc) and still does but did not understand the term, "from scratch"! 🤓😁 In the Pacific Northwest. Anything is possible in the summer. 😮 I run my heater more than my fan...
  • Every summer, you have the freshest, most 'envied' veggie salads in the whole world Ariel & Eric. Hope your Maine sized garden in Alaska be a guide to others!
