How Andretti's Bold Strategy is Putting Pressure on the F1

Andretti have now got the us congress involved in there push to f1! bringing in 12 congress members to write a letter as to why they should be in f1 and the reasons behind the first rejection were simply unfair.

I love to think that out of pure American bravado Andretti is just going to show up to winter testing for 2026 and let F1 figure it out
  • @davesiddons8921
Out of all the new entries we’ve had in the last 10 years Andretti should 100% get a chance, just the extra 2 seats to go round would be great, so much talent is being left to rot

With Andretti intending to enter F2 and F3, for a team not in F1 they seem to be investing more than some current F1 teams. I assume this is the kind of team F1 wants/needs. The sport of F1 has always supersede any one team (or driver) because of how good it is. The F1 Group needs to believe this also. Not much thought needed here.

As an American it’s a little insulting to not let Andretti/ Cadillac race by saying they wouldn’t bring value.. I would immediately make a purchase of merchandise and go see races of that. I’ve been so frustrated with haas being called an American team it would be nice to see what we could do. Maybe that could even drive other American manufacturers to join the sport.

The F1 Teams is a closed shop. They dont want to divide the money, they would all get less ! F1 needs more Teams ! Andretti is perfect for F1. Support from the UK 🇬🇧

Your upload schedule is so nice especially with the quality of your videos! As an American, I really want Andretti in F1, they deserve it. I just want to see some representation of American teams and drivers that’s not a million grand prixs ripping off real f1 fans. But also just as a f1 fan and not as an American, I think the addition is needed to bring American fans, promote better racing, and hopefully encourage the back off the grid to step it up. I really want them on the grid.

I love how Michael Andretti won't quit - nor should he! With each passing week, FOM look more and more ridiculous.
  • @EstebanLopez-bn9pd
If any of you are going to the Miami GP, you should make a big sign expressing support for Andretti.

As a ferrari fan, I'd like to see what GM could do in f1. Wouldn't mind seeing bmw or Toyota return, have 12 teams again.

They like our money, and our markets. They just don't like us.
  • @lolcityexpress
As much as I am for Andretti joining the grid, it absolutely gals me that US lawmakers are getting involved in the sport.

I just can't believe how pity FOM and some of the team bosses are... They're making themselves and Haas look bad by trying to boycot Andretti. Everybody knows that it's Andretti who would add value to F1, so Idk why they wouldn't want to use Andretti's reach and power in the US market. Their decision to deny Andretti just doesn't make any sense, not from a marketing pov and most certainly not from a business one! They're shooting themselves in the foot here, with a flippin' RPG, missing out on a lot of money and growth. It's not only sad to see, but emberassing as a fan of the sport.

Completely agree with your comments, good video!

As a UK F1 fan, I’d love to see Andretti on the grid, not really because it’s an American team but because it’s got such great history within motorsport, it deserves a place. I really hope they can get in for 2026, so I’m glad they are still pushing. Must be honest though, you’d better be prepared for the piss taking the first time an Andretti car goes off at a corner, because we all know American car’s can’t corner 😂 Joking aside, that’s exactly why they should be allowed to race. There’s a lot of preconceived ideas about American cars, dating back to when you really couldn’t go around corners, so F1 is the perfect place to dispel those ideas.

For those that follow f1 news you would know that F1 is meeting with Andretti this weekend about joining because the F1 email to Andretti went into their junk mail an nobody checked it till sometime a few weeks ago
  • @VegasMikeP229
Fairly simple. If they block Andretti, I'm gone. I'm only one individual, but I'm a start.
  • @michaelfierman3256
And the other thing is that in the next concord agreement which will be signed before 2028 from what I’ve heard they may very well set the maximum team limit to 10. So yes, it looks like whatever political pressure Andretti can apply before then is imperative. And I love that other guys idea to tax the teams to race in the USA. Unfortunately I can’t imagine the tax being more costly than the amount of “the pie” the teams would be surrendering to Andretti if they enter. It all comes down to greed vs how much heat the teams can take
  • I'm here for it! First, I'm stoked to see you covering the Andretti push to the grid. This should've been such a straightforward decision for F1, let them race. Everyone wants this to happen, well except FOM.
  • @purple4395
Its so ridiculous that we dont get more teams. Its hella needed to have more cars on the grid.
  • @johnofnz
It all comes down to whether or not the US Congress actually has jurisdiction over this. Liberty media is headquartered in Colorado, so they definitely fall under US antitrust law jurisdiction - and because there are Grand Prix in three different states, it triggers the Interstate Commerce Clause of the Constitution, which falls under Federal/Congressional jurisdiction.

But, Liberty could argue that the authority responsible for rejecting Andretti's application is Formula One Management, who are based in the UK and outside of US jurisdiction.

However, FOM's parent company - The Formula One Group (also Headquartered in the UK) is actually listed on the US stock exchange....
