  • GM logic: lets make one vehicle but put a different badge for every brand and now we have lots of vehicles!

I like those 50’s era caddys. Slab sided styling with the aerodynamics of a brick, fins that rival a jet liner, and the size and the handling of an aircraft carrier.

Girl you sound like you are reading the owners manual for a mid tier lawn mower.

Simple awnser: they got too greedy cutting corners and stopped caring about the customers or products they put out.

My grandfather always had a Cadillac. Owning a Cadillac, especially in the black community, was a success symbol.

It's impressive how, consistently, when companies listen to their engineers they thrive, while when they are controlled by management tie-wearing, bonus-driven straw men, they completely crash.

Cadillac, Lincoln and Buick suffered the same problems. Companies cheapened the brand. Not only in looks, but in performance. Kept the luxury price tag.
  • @DucatiPaso750
I remember all the shared platforms. You literally couldn't tell a Cadillac apart from a Buick, a Pontiac or a Chevrolet until you got close enough.

This whole piece doesn't even mention Cadillac's biggest contribution to the auto industry - the modern pedal layout - clutch, brake, accelerator ... It effectively standardized controls across the entire industry to this day....

"owners of cadillac is either more than 60 y.o or died" now i know why my favorite arcade game named "Cadillac & Dinosaurs"
  • @gbal05
One cool fact they left out, Cadillac was the first company which put the gas, break, and clutch in the pattern we know now.
  • What happened to Cadillac was that the aesthetic quality of the car went from land yacht to the quality of this presentation.
  • @gemcityvintage
Soo the Cadillac bumpers are essentially inspired by boobs? Nice.

Prices too high, quality too low ☠️
