This is a pretty model and it's not expensive. So, what's the catch?

Well, it's not a great crawler, despite live axles, locked diffs, servo on axle and low gearing. But as a trail rig, there's potential.

Can we make it better? I reckon we may just be able to! Let me show you what I've done with mine...

  • I've got a few WPL models that are on par with MN, I believe and they are what they are. They look good bouncing down the trail and provide smiles for the boys and I. They can't compete with Axial, Traxxas, FMS, etc as far a performance, but they make decent rolling models. I like what you did with this truck. It looks fantastic and it does pretty decent on the trail. Fun little video. Thank you!
  • Nice work on the mods! I have a MN-82, MN-99 and a MN-128 and that little MN-82 is the best bang for the buck. I have a quick review of all three on my channel soon.

I have a fondness of cheapo stuff then tuning it to perform. Great vid as always, fun little toy to mess around with 😁
  • @ARJAYBueno
I bought the red one and the performance is good for it's price

Newer revision of the PCB is conformal coated from the factory, unless it's market or seller specific

I just picked one up on AliExpress for 35usd, figured if it's bad, it's so cheap it doesn't matter. Ordered a 370 motor and adapter, and some 68mm 1.3" wheels and tires. Should be an alright trail truck, not expecting anything crazy. I also have an MB100 ESC that can handle 370 size motor I may try out.

it's a great looking truck i'll give them that but yeah, this feels like something you give someone that is a Toyota enthusiast but knows nothing about RC cars. i appreciate the effort and engineering you did to make it tolerable though 😁

Looks very nice. And my favorite part of the hobby is fiddling with stuff and trying to make it better with minimal expense. Great video enjoyed it.

Leaf springs without a shackle end will be pretty tough but you got them working! You did a nice job making this look pretty cool. I haven't been able to stay interested in the smaller scales despite attempts with the SCX24 The Injora S4 and S5 compounds seem to be proving themselves as quite capable. Hopefully we see more tires released in those compounds 👍

I got the yellow one and still modifying it, so far i am liking the outcome

Looks like it was fun and kept you busy for a bit. Likely pass on this model myself, still very attractive and looks fun to mod a bit. I built a new rig using the Powerhobby/Injora LCG girder chassis. I put an Element IFS2 front end, pair with really long links out back
  • Congratulations on the video! Just a question: this shift between speed 1 and 2 requested through the button on the controller, how is it done in the pickup truck? Is there a second servo (besides the steering one) that performs this speed change inside the differential? Thanks in advance... 😉👍🏻
  • @primedias17
what brand are the rims? Do you use an adapter?
  • @mark-mj5dl
It needs a driver now 👍. Great video!
  • @papalel
I got one, it was fun little truck. What I found out was with just a change of better tires, it performed much better. Then I got crazy and modified the heck out of it 🤣 Actually you can use a higher capacity battery like a 2s 1500 mah. Btw, nice video.
