Our First Ever OVERNIGHT BACKPACKING TRIP! + Back To Work on the RV 🔨

Published 2021-03-26
We love finding quirky places to stay all over the world, but this is our first time hiking to an overnight camp! 🏕 Luckily we survived with only a few aches and pains and didn’t have any run-ins with the mountain lions that live in the area…only friendly armadillos. 😅 But now, it's back to the RV Renovation!

  • Some of your new camping equipment could come in useful in the RV, like sleeping bags when it gets very cold and the yoga mats for your daily exercising while on the road

I'm an avid backpacker and one of my favorite things is taking people on their first one-nighter! This was fun to watch!
  • @Maphisnm
Enjoyable as always. I'm not a super hard core backpacker but it's so fun to watch people who have never done it before give it a try and always a good plan to do a quick out and back to get your feet wet! Also..lol at those meals at REI. I never buy them. Pro tip: the 99 cent packages of knorr pasta or rice and beans from the grocery store is where it's at.

13:07 Hold a teaspoon against the rim of your blue cup so that when you pour the hot water it runs down the spoon and onto your coffee. No spills!

For anyone wanting to try backpacking, you can rent any of the gear you need from REI! No point in spending hundreds of dollars if you're trying it out.
  • The more you travel, the more you see that there are so many wonderful things in the world. It can be difficult to settle for something great when you can see that there could always be something better just round the next corner. Travel can sometimes simply be about a quest for perfection. This quest for perfection that we are looking for,we found just now in your video so the only that we have to say on you: Huge thank you and keep going!!!!!!
  • @spoodie1
You have to get one of those cheap $2 pool mattresses and use that under you as well when camping, cheap, lite weight and makes it a lot more comfortable.
  • @Foxys10
The armadillo is so the highlight of your trip. So cute!💕
  • I just absolutely laugh and love it when you do the camera magic to make things automatically appear when you snap your finger (or toss a tent bag in this case)!! 😂😂

I am from south Texas but have been living in Tennessee for the past 15 years. It is so nice to see a video with footage from Texas. Makes me homesick.
  • @Rollingouttj
I think the reason you hated it so much was... 1. Texas might be in the top 10 worst states to backpack in... (its ugly) 2. Gear is expensive because its comfortable. Walmart crap is not going to cut it. 3. Going backpacking with a goal in mind is waaaaaay more fun than just camping. That Goal could be hiking a large peak, getting a photo you have researched, fishing an awesome alpine lake, finding an animal you have always wanted to see, Complete a difficult trail. I have a entire channel dedicated to backpacking and spending time in the outdoors haha. Try backpacking in Montana, Washington state or some other amazing state. You might like it more. hahahaha Much love!
  • That armadillo was so cute 😍 glad you guys had a good time . The R.V is looking fab. You have done a fantastic job so far, can't wait see the final product 😁
  • @cjcj6945
Fun video y'all! Thank you for including us!🤠👍🏕
  • @AlleyWater
In some REI you can rent backpacking equipment As an avid hiker/backpacker I understand how expensive all that gear is.
  • @J0eBl0e
Yeah, those thin foam sleeping pads are OK for insulation, but not for cushioning. Look for a self-inflating sleeping pad, from Thermarest or Klymit.
  • Wow, what a funny creature an Armadillo is. We have nothing like that, being in the UK, and Mountain Lions too, not surprised you never got much sleep 💤
  • Love this so much! Y’all are inspiring us to go backpacking! We have a camper but this way looks like way more of an adventure 💚 Great video as always, friends! We’re always so happy when you post. -Ben and Ang
