    I'm really glad you say that person centred is about getting involved because there is a myth that PCA is a more passive approach than other modalities and it is quite the opposite.

    Oh dear, conflating modern psychodynamic practice with historical psychoanalysis. Yes, Freud was very import but SO much has changed since then, lets also mention Klein, Winnicott and Bowlby. Psychodynamic therapy haa come along way from the therapist sitting passively out of view. The emphasis on the transference, with humanistic and existential breakthroughs being incorporated into the practice.

    Do you think psychological theories (that are all very Eurocentric as far as I can see) have evolved along with the changes of our societies? And if so, if those changes have been wrought by the development of commercialised technology then is that reflected in contemporary therapeutic theory?
