Today I installed a Double Din Car Stereo in my Cadillac CTS and replaced the stock system. A good car stereo upgrade over the stock system. I will show you step by step how to take your stock stereo apart and install a new Double Din Car Stereo in your Cadillac CTS.

  • I am a MECP certified mobile electronics technician. All you have to do to turn on factory sub and tweeters is make sure you still hook up the factory remote turn on lead for the factory amplifier. Also the color codes for most 1990 to 2010 General Motors vehicles are as follows. *Left front speaker colors are (light brown + gray -) *Right front speaker colors are (light green + dark green -) *Left rear speaker colors are (brown + yellow-) *Right rear speaker colors are (dark blue + light blue -) Light colors in the front are positives. Dark colors in the rears are positives.

2 years later and this is still one of the only videos out there on how to upgrade the stereo with this set up. Thanks for putting in the effort so us less than average guys can cheat!

I appreciate your time and effort plus sharing! You've helped me decide what I'm going to do!

The speaker wires are also on the wire harness underneath the back seat on the driver's side. They are thicker gauge and come in a pair wrapped in a swirl together. I suggest you pop off your door panels to verify the colors going into the door speakers before taping into them. I ran all my own wires from that spot and then tap into the cigarette lighter for 12v power and ground to the head unit.
  • Were should the board of the facade be cut? for keep radio and remove DVD

i also have a 2006 cadillac cts and im trying to look for a wiring harness to put in a aftermarket stereo what wiring harness do i need i can’t find it anywhere
  • Great video! Very informative. Were you able to get all the speakers working? Perhaps you can answer a question for me. I have a 2005 Cadillac SRX. The factory radio is not powering on. All fuses are good. The door chimes work, backup warning chime works. Does all of that work off of the amplifier? If I bypass the amp will I lose those functions? I'd like to install an aftermarket radio.
  • 1st off I wanna say thank you for making this video cuz I just won this exact car at an auction yesterday in California & I wanna know how to mod out my car exactly how u explained in this video since the DIC of the Cadillac is an amazing unique feature. I was wondering do you have a follow-up video for this tutorial? If so, what’s the name of it?

"Here is my 2006 CTS which I absolutely love". Sold car right after hacking dash and making video.
  • Can you keep the DIC like you have but use the steering wheel controls adapter for the new radio and just control the DIC with the dash buttons?

I just picked up an 03 cts luxury sport, but it has a kenwood display in it. Should i go back to the info center and find a new display? I like to see the oil life and what not

Hello friend I have a doubt I hope you can help me. I have a 2004 cadillac srx and it has the original dealership cd case stereo but it is digital with small screen its just orange numbers and letters. Well, my question is the following: I can put an original big screen stereo from the Cadillac SRX agency of the same year in my car. ie can it connect without problems and work properly? I await your response thanks
  • @59phonebone
You: “I absolutely love this car.” . Also you: “I sold it a while back.” . Me: “Aww, man…” 😕
