  • I watched Earl Campbell play football from high school to New Orleans Saints. I can honestly say I have seen the best running back ever to play football. Thank you Lord!

When you get hit by Jack Tatum at the goal line and still get in you are a legend.

I love Earl Campbell. My brother in law(6"4" 240 - linebacker) played him in a HS playoff game(from north Texas) and said he ran over me twice and I didn't even slow him down. He also makes a pretty decent sausage.
  • I grew up in Pittsburgh and a life long Steelers fan ... nothing but respect for Earl Campbell, he gave 100% every game.

Earl was a home grown hero. He was country all the way and a true gentleman.i was lucky enough to have drinks with him once. He would not let us pay for a round. He threw down a hundred and went and gave a speech to graduating high schoolers . He came back continued to chat.He never shyed away from the public. Him and Bum lived and played golf only a few miles from were I grew up. He was down to earth but played like a god.

Imagine if Earl Campbell played with Warren Moon and a slightly better defense...

The Oilers practiced off-season in San Angelo where I lived at the time. I went to watch them a few times and after practice, there would be a line of kids wanting his autograph. No matter how tired he was or how long it took he signed for every one of those young fans. They didn't call them the Houston Earlers for nothing. Class Humble Controlled power Makes terrific sausage Earl is my favorite back!! God Bless you Earl!

if Earl Campbell played in Jim Brown's day, he would never have been tackled.

At 2:57 in this video, Campbell hits a great LB named Isaiah Robertson “the black Butkus” and after this hit his career went down and never recover, he just have some flashes of his greatness when he join Coach Chuck Knox in the Buffalo Bills.

My favorite Earl Campbell plays is the goal line play vs the Raiders. The Assassin Jack Tatum hits Campbell and he still scored. My other favorite play was the run vs the Rams. He f***ing head butted a guy. His jersey tore and he was still going. God damn beast.

The best running back ever to come out of UT. And will always be the best in the NFL also !!
  • I watched him play college football and pro....didnt really understand how good he was in college but when he got to the pros.....man what a sight to watch him run.
  • @jamesgentry4556
Imagine what he would have done with Emmit Smiths offensive line.
  • @hoss73ford
Its sad the Oilers didn't do better than they did during Campbell's career. It was like OJ Simpson with the Bills or Gale Sayers with the Bears. These guys deserved to be on a Super Bowl caliber team

Earl Campbell Hot Links are the best!
