Sun Wukong is basically the oldest "Wanna see me do it again?" Meme.
-
Jade emperor :"it's just a monkey there's no need to worry" narrator :" but there was a need to worry"
-
Sun Wukong learned 72 transformations and "hyperspace traveling" from an immortal, snatched an unbreakable golden stick and golden armor of immunity from a bunch of sea dragons, stolen and ate forbidden fruits of longevity, pumped himself full of heavenly drugs & adrenaline ... he is practically unkillable... so OP XD
-
how many immortality you want? wukong: yes
-
I like Sun Wukong because : 1. Monke 2. He can create doppelgangers 3. Is super strong 4. Reflects how people can change 5. Shows how desperate mortals want to be immortal 6. Has a fucking Golden Staff that can change size! 7. He is basically feared by most gods
-
The fact that Buddha literally gives Sun Wukong the middle finger is the best part! :D
-
How is this not the jade emperor’s fault for asking a monkey to guard fruit
-
A certain wise man once said: “It’s not just about living forever. The trick is living with yourself forever”
-
Sun Wukong may not be physically hurt but only his ego...which makes him go bananas in the heavens
-
Goku - “ I don’t want immortality“ Original Goku - “ give me all the immortality’s!”
-
Fun fact: 72 transformations technique was just a name, he could in fact transform into anything even, get this, transform into a version of himself that is as strong as his opponent. Then he can use his thousands of body hairs to clone that very same transformation and the clones are AS STRONG as the original. I know I know. OP as fuck.

Sun Wukong the Monke who became immortal 5 times then beat heaven and hell because it was fun.

In Chinese culture, there is an idiom called 心猿意马 (Xin Yuan Yi Ma). It is a metaphor meaning "Heart is like a Monkey, Mind is like a Horse". The monkey is Wukong, the horse is the monk Tang Sanzang's (who rescued Wukong from the mountain of five elements) saddle horse.
-
Why did they think letting him guard the immortal peaches was a good idea?😂
-
Sun Wukong was given great power but relied too heavily on what he was capable of which made him cause his own downfall. It shows that if you’re not satisfied with great power then you are not worthy of keeping it
-
I like the fact that he not only crossed out his own name in the book of the underworld, but all the other monkeys too. He has a sense of the common good, as long as it is the common good of monkeys.
-
A quick correction. When stone crossed the waterfall he was crowned 'Handsome Monkey King' I feel Sun Wukong would feel the handsome part is very important
-
Sun wukong is like that one rare protagonist that we care about more than the main charecter
-
Sun Wukong gotta be the pettiest mythological creature out there 💀😭

I've been an avid fan of Journey to the West since I was a baby. I haven't seen any English YouTube video on the Monkey King that successfully summarizes his origin story so well. Keeping in some important details, like how he wandered the lands for years before meeting with his first teacher Subhūti. Please keep producing, I'm looking forward to your Journey to the West series. Take your time and make multiple videos, as Journey to the West is a huge epic and should be covered in full.
