He doesn’t even strike first, he waits to counter, so badass in my opinion

I really love how they didn't make Batman completely untouchable in this movie. He's constantly getting hit, shot, thrown around, and it makes it so much more realistic.

Nothing beats this scene in theaters, the sound of his boots echoing throughout. The rain, the booming punches that rocked the seats…best memory from a movie theater 😔
  • The kid with the half printed face is very symbolic of his position in the film. He’s not really a bad kid just has been mislead by these guys or trying to be accepted, he’s not all the way corrupt he’s just lost.

I like how they encapsulated a younger Batman. He was more about punishing the criminals than saving the innocent, that’s why even the civilians are scared of him. It’s seen here too, when even after he beats the thugs, the civilian pleads him to not harm him too.
  • That entrance gives me goosebumps. He comes walking in calmly like Terminator...my friend mentioned that you hear him before you see him in this scene. Gives him a powerful atmosphere.
  • Batman really gave the first guy that arkham beatdown, the one that feels personal on so many levels

I like how other DC movies describe Batman as something so heroic and awesome. This movie describes Batman as something terrifying, a force everyone should be afraid of

1:06 The most brutal thing is how he locks his arm onto his so the thug cant get away as he's absolutely wailing on him

A Batman movies NEEDS a Batman entrance, and this is by far the best one yet.

I was already sold on Pattinson as Batman. I loved his design, his unhinged rambling monologues, his voice, and the way he fights. But for some ungodly reason, the way he raises his head at 1:43 is when it finally clicked "Oh yeah, that's Batman."

With the endless marvel comedies choking up theaters, this was pretty refreshing.

Unpopular opnion: what ended up making this Batman so appealing, isn't actually his detective-skills. It's his rawness.

The way Bruce literally emerges from the darkness like a ghost sent chills down my spine the first time I saw this movie.

the details in this scene are so good. As a first intro of the character, you would think that a man dressed in a bat costume is pretty silly, and the thugs, being in their clique, react accordingly. Juxtapose this with the monologue intro, you see that criminals who are by themselves, fear batman. The group of thugs actions here are really accurate to real life, people tend to act different they are in their comfortable tribes, and only show their true nature when the group's leader or their friends are no longer there with them. Hence why they all flee after the fight. Very well done here, a super grounded and realistic intro of the character here

He let them escape so they would spread the word about him

This is The Batman. This is the portrayal we've all craved. Yes, the Dark Knight Trilogy is great. But THIS is the best comic movie portrayal of The Batman we've ever had. Dark. Brooding. Intimidating. Vulnerable.

The way they show his walk close up! Goosebumps till this day I swear!
