This song was originally released as a shorter version, but when she released “Red - Taylor’s Version”, she decided to release it in its entirety. The song tells the story of her relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. They dated when she was 20/21 years old and he was 29 years old. Some songs on this album (Red) are for him too. So basically the video is a film of their relationship. Including the part where she writes a book, it's as if she were talking about the release of this song (probably the 10-minute version, which was long awaited and requested by fans) Note: I love your reactions, please never stop!❤

This is a nice reminder of how psyched Swiftie film geeks are for her feature film directorial debut, which we know basically nothing about yet. Loved the way she used light, set choices and little moments to tell part of the story, like the use of cooler light on Dylan and warmer light on Sadie - and the gas oven with the big light over it in the background as Dylan’s character gaslights Sadie’s character in the kitchen argument scene. Also note how he takes her hand in the car when they’re alone at the beginning, compared to his reaction to her taking his hand in front of his friends at the dinner party. With the exception of I Bet You Think About Me(directed by her bestie Blake Lively) Taylor’s directed every MV since the Man, which was a pretty audacious start since she had to go through all the makeup and prosthetics that she did. But she’d co-directed several MVs before that and was pretty involved in developing the concepts behind MVs like Bad Blood and Look What You Made Me Do.

"It don't look right" is good instincts! Sadie is the age Taylor was when she was in the relationship this song is about, and Dylan is the age her boyfriend at the time was. And it DOES look wrong to see them together, because it WOULD BE and it WAS.

Incredible piece of work, and the fight scene was completely improvised she told them what she wanted and they went for it.

Taylor has actually written a script for a feature film and is going to direct it. We have no idea what the genre or storyline is, so far we only know that she's working on it with Searchlight Pictures, but that's all we know and I guess that won't be changing anytime soon since she's really busy with the tour, TTPD and the left rerecordings right now.
