"No politician in history has been treated worse..." Meanwhile somewhere in the afterlife, Julius Caesar, his semi-transparent body covered in dozens of knife wounds looks up from his paper. He stares straight ahead, unblinkingly for several long moments before straightening the newspaper out and returning to his reading in silence.

Re-watching this 5 years later is like that feeling you get revisiting the first season of an anime 5 years later and seeing how weak all the monsters were in comparison.

Rewatching all of Oliver's videos about Trump now, in 2023, is just insane. It just never ends, does it?
  • @ThranThruse
I love seeing all the comments from over the years and remembering how each different thing at the time was “the biggest thing yet” and it’s still going on and on and on with no end in sight.

If trump took a dump on a desk, not only would people defend him, they would somehow blame Obama

“Four days ago, which is equivalent to 150 years in 2017 time...” Me, in 2020: oh, just you wait. Just. You. Wait.
  • @RamadaArtist
Man what a wildly innocent time this was. Like, none of this even registers compared to the level of bullshit we've made it to in the six years since.

2017: What would a Trump impeachment look like? 2022: Which one?
  • @xxxxmimi
I dont understand why US politicians even talk about their religion. Religion and politics shouldnt mix, look at all the problems that different religions have caused around the world.

I have 100x more respect for Anderson Cooper
  • One of my favourite parts about the Garfield assassination is that the killer actually said “I didn’t kill him, the doctors did” which is actually a common idea among historians because if they had modern medicine he would have survived
  • @iamtheuberscoot
"Impeachment is probably a long shot" 2017 was such an innocent time considering he was impeached not once but twice before leaving office, not to mention the insurrection
  • @christsuke873
if he took a dump on his desk you would defend him DAMN A.C. way to get RAW
  • @AjPNLR
That line from Anderson Cooper made me respect him so much more.

A reminder after 6 years: This is not normal. I have been slowly getting used to all the scandals, so I hope we can someday remind ourselves that: This is not normal.

Watching this in 2023, and laughing about how sweet and innocent we all were back in the day …
  • @MsGrapeNehi
I, for one, am simply relieved that Anderson Cooper is indeed a fallible human being, and not an android created to make me feel insecure about my physical imperfections.
  • @mikeramey5853
This will be buried in these comments... to the person who made that graphic of the kid catching the parents 69'ing, you are a master of the graphic arts. I salute you.
  • @davewebb9452
Watching this in August 2023, it all seems so quaint.
  • @Banana34598
It’s so weird how this both feels like it wasn’t that long since this happened and simultaneously also like 20 years ago
