That clocktower is on my arm forever.

Sad to see what a cesspool it has become. I worked in the building for 5 years and there was hardly a day there when the police weren’t called or some kind of crime wasn’t happening.

I thought this was Peterborough, England at first!

I miss EATON’s at Peterborough Square

A girl I met in Brazil claimed to be from Peterborough Ontario whist I'm from Peterborough UK. It was a brief encounter and nothing more came of it

Was anybody at this opening day in 1975? I am researching a guitar player/singer who famously bombed at the opening, after about half an hour or so, playing at one of the shoe stores (Bata maybe??) with 2 girls modelling shoes and an older man hitting a drum. Does anyone have any memories of this?? It was like an episode of Codco!

Ahh yes, Peterborough and the 'Square' when it was vibrant and profitable, what happened? The 'go-to' place in the Kawartha's for shopping at established Canadian chain stores and the monumental Eaton's. I worked at Elk's Men's Wear in the early 80s at Peterborough Square. A great job, where I made the most money in my late teenage life before leaving the area for 'greener pastures'. Peterborough Square was a REAL community focus point in those days. An abundance of consumer traffic, and phenomenal holiday displays for Christmas, Easter, Canada Day and Remembrance Day. I refuse to comment on the derelict it has become in the 21st century.

Lots of work went into letting it fall into disrepair then spending money elsewhere to get away from what's been neglected. It's the Peterborough way.
