Dan Miller was a good friend of my church pastors. I vividly remember showing up to church the week after the Auckland floods and hearing he was one of the four people that perished. RIP Dan.

Tetsu Shiohara at 47 was challenging bar exam after countless failures living on his own sponging on his parent, what's worse he was suffering terminal bowel cancer. He might well have staged this spectacular fall from the top of Mt. Fuji for the last time for his audience, as many wonder. His physical strength was impressive for a terminal cancer sufferer, though. R.I.P

Dude died while live-streaming his attempt to save people during a massive flood? Seems like an awfully counterproductive approach. I feel like clout-farming a search and rescue operation really puts one's motives into question.

The car crash was heartbreaking. I remember hearing about it in the news. The girls were silly and paid the price. And even though one of the girl survived, she will most likely carry the guild for the rest of her life.

My cousin was at the waterpark in Moscow that day with his girlfriend. He expected to leave the water park really late with her but they left early because his girlfriend booked a surprise dinner reservation which was a long drive and they needed to get changed. Had they left the waterpark any later they would’ve died.

The second story always infuriated me. If falling to your death can be achieved by misplacing your foot, something all humans do (like as common as skipping a step on the stairs), then there should be more safety measures!
