RV LIFE NEIGHBOR A REAL A$$. WE did NOT Expect this. HDT BIG Rig Travel. RV Lifestyle. Fulltime RV

Published 2024-03-21
Leaving Las Vegas behind, we head back to the wilderness and the red rock confines of the Valley of Fire State Park to boondock on Lake Mead within the Lake Mead Recreation Area at Stewarts Point. What used to be a fledgling lake front community is now a fantastic camping and boondocking area on the water...if you can get there over some potholes and bumpy roads it's a nice area.

We expected dry camping but we didn't expect our neighbors! Man oh man! There are 3 of them that we counted and they are all a bunch of A$$es. Sondra got pictures!

A secret trail? Of the 7 wonders? Did I hear that correctly? Sondra has found this secret trail on All Trails App so we are looking forward to hiking this scenic, secret trail...but what surprise awaits us? You'll see...

We also may need Matt's Off Road Recovery MORR for this one. It gets ugly fast!

From the East, we came out West to enjoy a nice warm winter season and to experience some first time activities for us. Although the winter weather has been up and down with temps in the 70's to down in the 40's we have enjoyed every minute of it. Our trip is over halfway finished for our westward trek but we have seen and enjoyed some epic adventures.
We are not Snow Birds but we do like nice warm weather and heading west is the best.

We will raise our solar panels and brush them off to power our stay and experience these epic treasures of Mother Nature.

RV Camping
We like to "Switch it Up" between resorts and campgrounds and boondocking is always an option.

We draw inspiration from Keep Your Daydream KYD, Less Junk More Journey, Finding Our Someday and Changing Lanes. We normally travel in an HDT similar to YouTube channels Suite Travels, Switch it Up and Watts on Wheels. I also get some ideas from the editing style of Happily Ever Hanks (Happilyeverhanks) #thankshanks and believe it or not, I actually learned something from MRBeast Mr Beast video's as well.

Our journey is the destination. We want to share in our experiences in our discovery of What's Next.

I get my music from:
Epidemicsound.com
Tracks:
Goose on the Loose by Stationary Sign
Repeat by Eden Maze

Amazon Shop (no extra charge to you)
A convenient way to see (or buy) the items you see in the video's which may help in your adventure.

We use the TSD card for diesel fuel and save a bundle each time we fill up our Big Rig. We also use it to fill up our Onan generator.

The big blue boards (XL version) we use sometimes to get us "un-stuck" is from:
Gotreads.com

Our Class C is built by Thor Motorcoach on a Ford F550 chassis. It's a production build Magnitude model XG32. We tow our red Jeep Wrangler Sahara behind it. We've made some modifications to it so that we can boondock comfortably. Lithium batteries, Victron 3000w multi-plus inverter, dual alternators charge while traveling and mods to the water system greatly enhance it's boondocking capabilities.

Our extreme completely custom 5th wheel is built on a semi-trailer chassis with air suspension and air brakes. Completely loaded it weighs 42,000 lbs rolling down the highway. And we do roll down the highway nearly every week. You see, we believe that if your home has wheels they should be used.

Vehicles:
2016 Volvo VNL780 "Voyager"
2016 Smart fortwo "Pathfinder"
2019 SpaceCraft Custom built semi-trailer 5th wheel "Orion"
2023 Thor Magnitude XG32 Class C "Curiosity"
2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara "Artemis"

Power system:
3250 watts of solar with Panasonic panels
30.1 KWH of Lithium batteries
2- 4K watt Magnum Inverters deliver power as if we are on shore power
2- 4K watt 240v Cotek Inverters deliver additional power for our LG Mini split HVAC and stove

Coachnet is our roadside assistance company we use but hopefully we don't use them too often. LOL

We are not sponsored by Whataburger but I do enjoy them anytime I can get my hands on one. They used to be just out of Texas but they have expanded.

BIg Truck Big Travels video's are based on our personal experience and not meant nor portrayed as experts in anything we do or say. It's our life on the road and our opinions are not meant to be construed as advice. Enjoy life on the road.

I love that you can laugh and enjoy each other without out getting mad if things don’t go exactly as planned.

Between comparing "POOP" and "That's No Bull", you two are on a roll !! Thanks for taking us along, it is absolutely beautiful. Even if it was not a secret.....lol The reason you are on " not a trail" is because you are on a secret trail !! And that is why Sandra is "Liken It" !

We had a lot of solar power and always took 20 gallons of extra water over what our rig held. If anyone came in and parked within sight of us we packed up and hit the road. A couple of times we left at two or three in the morning. 95% of the time everything ran fine, but we did have some run ins with nutty people, but each time our dog set them straight and sent them packing, or looking for help. He was well trained and very obedient, but very dangerous. That's one nice rig you have.

Thanks for the reply We just can’t get enough of the Arizona Utah area absolutely beautiful. Keep finding new places to go see you on the road.
  • Sondra deserves a big meal, that she doesn’t have to cook, for doing all that work! Another great video guys! 😎
  • Awesome! You two are a riot - just love the humor. The slot canyons and scenery are amazing.

Way to go Sondra. I knew you would show him you could do it, even if he tried to trip you up! You guys had my heart racing when you were hiking off the trail and in those slot canyons. I was sure you were not going to find your way back. I imagine that those rocks look very similar when you get lost! Thanks for taking us along. I’m now sorry that we skipped that park when we were in the area, but glad I got to see it thru your eyes. As always, this channel is something people should never miss. Thanks for the best Thursday entertainment there is. Looking forward to the Mojave Desert adventure next week. Take care.

That's a beautiful area! I loved the donkeys. We used to raise miniature donkeys, so that was a treat to see some wild ones.
  • @lindacox8156
    You 2- I’m shaking my head😊Good job Sondra‼️👍😊 LOTS of beautiful scenery today👍Thank you👍
  • @maryloua777
I agree with Sondra. They probably did get tired of rescuing ppl and just put the signs up. Saying that from the viewpoint of having had to be “rescued” thinking we didn’t look too bad , but the rangers thought we needed a ride back to our car. So thankful for their experience and wisdom, and of course the ride.

Beautiful video, it is amazing how the rock formations are formed by water over thousands of years. The west really has some amazing country.
