    You are wrong, Mezzalas are players who make runs into the channels from a central starting position, whereas in Emery's 4-4-2, it is the players who start out wide come in to the centre of the pitch. It is kind of like a hallmark of Emery, because of the dying out of the no. 10 role, he has used Wide Playmakers who make inward runs towards the centre of the field. This creates space and allows for the playmaker to play key passes from a central position. A mezzala will go into the half-space from the centre and create from there. Garbage video, doesn't do any justice to Unai Emery's work at Villa.
