Every weight cut should follow ONE's rules. They are the most comprehensive and that's why their events are the best. All of their fighters feel great going in which means there's no tragic fights; bangers ONLY.

Just when YouTube is starting to get boring i find this gem of a channel

The description of the hot bath made dizzy, like the footage of Cris Cyborg's infamous weight cut in the hot bath crying.. I'll take the treadmill every time.
  • @Dubbios
You are the realest one talking about kickboxing. I fell so fortunate of have found this channel, both as a fighter and as a coach.
  • What weight cutting symptoms have you guys had? The one I mentioned in the video was soooo weird. Fortunately it hasn't reoccured recently. I'm a big fan of ONE's weight cutting policy.

Best channel on youtube. Thanks Gab, you are a class act and great champion.
  • I walk around between 230-250. Lately, I have been around 226-230. I have to experience which weight class will be best for me in M.M.A. Heavyweight or Light Heavyweight. If it's heavyweight, I can put on more muscle and maybe take protein powder to bulk up a bit. However, if I can comfortably make 205, then I could try that route as well. It's not worth it for me to even try to make 185. Don't kill yourself to try to get an edge. Have confidence that you can beat somebody at the same weight as yourself. Thanks for all the advice. I've been training from home, so it's amazing to have somebody with your credentials and kind attitude walk me through this new world that I have immersed myself in. ✌️

Interesting how he mentioned his glands got swollen during the weight cut. I did a 10 day water fast where my glands were feeling weird at the end. Whenever I would eat any type of food, both sides of my jaw would tingle like I was eating sour candy. I havent seen anybody else mention this. The lymph system if complex and apparently your body uses it for draining waste.
  • Gabriel I love you videos, I think you’d really benefit from lapel microphone, sometimes I have trouble hearing. Keep up the good work !
  • U need to put in some pictures or video clips from this worst weight cut u had. Thanks for sharing

So glad you ended up okay Gab. 😊 it seems to me like the weight cut is more dangerous than the fighting. But then again that's just from someone who is viewing it from the outside of the sport
  • The bath doesn't need to be scolding hot, apparently a bit above your core body temp is enough to induce sweating. But obviously the hotter it is the faster the sweats come on.
  • That's interesting, I used the hot bath most of my pro career. I guess it's just like cold temperatures, you have to get your body used to it regularly. I could easily loose a bit over 2kg in less than an hour without feeling bad. In my amateur career, I used a jump rope once, never again as I ended up fighting with a calf cramp 😄
  • I know this is an old video. But the bath definitely does NOT have to be scolding hot. Comfortably warm will do the job. Been there done that.

Easiest way to cut weight is to prolonged fast with salt water. Just fasted 6 days w just water and salt water. Lost 13 pounds of fat. Would you rather cut fast or slow??
  • @nencat419
It's almost surprising how I don't know many cases of fighters passing away from fighting, and rather from cutting weight, probably my biggest fear as an aspiring fighter right beside stage fright. Unrelated to the topic, but can you link the music you use in your description ?
  • Thanks for sharing this experience. If you would cut more weight, let's say 10 pounds, How would you do it. I already cut 6 or 7 pounds and it was pretty okay without food and water for 20 hours and a bit of running.
