Torsional eye movement, known as cycloversion and cyclovergence have a fascinating evolutionary history via our evolutionary ancestors that had eyes on the sides of their heads. Your eyes twist in this way whenever you tilt your head!

  • I feel like the close-up eye shots on this one are quite creepy. Sorry! The sponsor is NordVPN: Get 68% off for a 2-year plan + 1 month free with this link: nordvpn.com/steve and use the promo code "steve" to get the first month free.
  • Youtube: "You can twist your eyeball" Me: "why would anyone do that?" Also me: click
  • @mindtreat
I ended up doing half a rotation, but my eyes got stuck that way and everything i saw was upside down. I solved my problem by moving to Australia.
  • Fun fact, if you succesfully managed to view the pen in 3D, you can do the same with two "identical" images next to each other and spot the mistakes in one of the pictures. If you know the game - find five differences. The differences are the spots where you can see a "small" blinking from the merged picture.

I’ve experienced this orbital rotation when nodding off then snapping awake while my head bobbled forward and back. The brief moment it took my eyes to re-align, I could see the world, Horizon, rotate though my head was stationary. Very strange. Especially, when my eyes fail to re-align and feel stuck.
  • 8:29 omg OMG thats so crazy, what im getting from this is that the reason why when you spin and spin and spin around on yourself then stop, your vision is tilted and when your eyes look around it sets back to this tilted position each time, slowly it reverts to normal. i never thought it was your eyes literally TWISTING THEMSELVES IN YOUR EYESOCKETS. this is truly mindblowing. thank you, for sharing this neat piece of info.

  • @Jackzorz
"you need blooshot eyes... Lucky me" rolls a fatty
  • I've been able to do this as long as I can remember and everyone that I've told thinks I'm crazy. But it's kind of fun and I tend to do it when kind of unfocusing my eyes, almost like a stretch.
  • Its really amazing how well develeloped the human being is even the smallest of things
  • Me: how will this help me in anyway My brain: just click it
  • oh boy, I've always wanted to twist my eye around. This is really going to turn my life around. Before, I was a dull and boring person, but now since I've learned how to twist my eye around, I can finally live the exciting and fulfilling life I've always dreamed of!
  • @Ps35176
I always thought my eyes could do this! I couldn't find anything from internet searches, and it's hard to monitor the movement of your own eye. Good to know I wasn't crazy

  • I actually forgot that as an Asian, we only have dark irises so no one can see my eyeballs rolling even if i learned it
  • very fascinating. I love learning about weird things our bodies do without us really realizing it. I can do some eye things on command and some other facial control, but I very much would love to learn to do more!
