  • I never noticed how much personality wasps and hornet have. Wow.

Is it possible that the paper wasp Queen decided to build a new nest, away from the hornets?

I'd have expected the Yellow Hornet queen to attack the Paper Wasp larvae as an easy food source, but I guess it didn't happen.

I've never seen someone hand-feed a wasp or hornet before. And they were so calm. Very neat.

I’m surprised that the hornet never ate the wasp larvae to feed its brood?

"Who are you?" "Who am I?! I'm the Queen of this hive! Who are YOU?!"

Our Dolichiovespula maculata queens in the USA also put paper fibers on top of the cocoons for some reason. They disappear though so I guess they are reused for something useful.
