I took what I liked from other videos and tried to improve upon them. I wanted to get rid of the hose that can be in the way compared to a solid PVC pipe that is also a leg for the stand. Hope someone else finds this useful. Thanks!

I used the Harbor Freight Bauer Shop-Vac with the Dustopper.

Best and most intelligent tiny build I have seen. Thanks much!

Best design I’ve seen so far, and I’ve been looking at them for a while. Thank you!
  • Best yet, and trust me...I can binge YT with the best of them. I like the wye's for tool holders and wand storage the best of all...now on to Harbor Freight I go! Maybe for my needs, I'll add a shepherd's hook of some sort, for a hose "reel".

Excellent!! Well thought out, logical. Should provide inspiration of ideas to others. Another upgrade I made was to the hose. The smoother bore Ridgid kit is really nice. Nicely done & thanks for sharing

Excellent solution. Thank younfor sharing. I am thinking how to sort my vacuum cleaner together with dust separator for quite some time and your solution looks and works the best. I'm going to build my own ASAP. Thank you once again.😊

Very nice design and I have the same Bauer, so I think this design is for me. Thanks for sharing. Scott

This is awesome!! I know this is built to handle large jobs but I think it’ll be perfect for ppl like myself who need st for our diy projects like refinishing furniture. Love how compact it is!
  • 99.9 % Perfect, I would only round the ply corners and ground the unit. I will say, 12/1/2022 It seems HF changed their lid a bit, it's thicker and added a fitting in the box. The dustopper is great for wood dust and has a lower profile. The HF and DD units seem better for spackle dust, about the same for wood dust. Though nothing seems to be perfect for spackle dust so exhaust the vacuum out the window... You may wish to ground the buckets via foil tap and a wire to a grounded outlet. Wood dust and sparks do not mix well.
  • Nicely done. It sucks that I just set mine up the other way a month ago. Now I have to go back and redo it using this method.

I am so impressed and excited to try to make this.

Great job I really like your version
  • Great Job!! I was looking at the same vacuum and it's on sale at Harbor Freight and noticed it had the legs for pipe support.

    Nice job. Thanks for sharing.

This is about two weeks too late! I just gave away a load of 1 3/4" and 2" pipe and a metric ton of fittings as I had had them for about 6 months and couldn't find a use for them. Excellent idea, looks the part too.
