After a lengthy debate over the nominations for the top 100, and two full Months of preparation and editing, Unsung Talent has finally compiled the very best tracks from the Halo series- all 17 viable Halo productions. Halos 1 through 5, all remakes (including SPV3), all prequels and sequels, both Halo Wars titles, Spartan Assault and its sequel, Halo Installation 01, and all movies in the franchise (excluding Halo Nightfall which regretfully has no official soundtrack) were all included in the nomination process without discrimination about how popular each one was. In this top 100 every track which was considered to be of excellent music quality was nominated; and, let me assure you, even the most avid Halo listeners will undoubtedly hear tracks they’ve never heard before.
Now, as always happens when limiting the number of anything to a top 100, there will be broken hearts. Most notable among those who were bounced from the top 100 are: Prologue, Rising from Halo 2; Costal Highway from Halo 3 ODST; Moon over Mombasa from Halo 2 Anniversary; What Once was Lost from Halo Combat Evolved; Amethyst from Halo Wars 2; Five Long Years from Halo Wars; Sacrifice from Halo 4; Cloud Chariot from Halo 5; Overture from Halo Reach; Sacred Rings from Halo Installation 01; and the list goes on for miles! Yes, there were a lot of tracks that didn’t make the cut (and perhaps one or two of them Should have), but there were also quite a few who did. And those tracks are so good, that they make even main-stream music have to take a backseat!
