Hi painting friends, let’s try a reveal pour! Today I’m creating a two-layer painting of a cute yellow seahorse in its natural habitat - peaceful sea grasses in dreamy turquoise waters.

Thanks to ‪@RinskeDouna‬ and ‪@SarahMackArt‬ for giving me ideas and inspiration on the reveal pour! And of course thanks to Danny Young for inspiring my very first seahorse.

If you haven’t seen my other seahorse videos yet, check them out here!

The second (and probably better) video:    • Another SEAHORSE Micro Swipe! 🐠 INCRE...

For the background I am using palette knives to blend the colors and swipe the sea grasses. No silicone oil is used in the background.
For the seahorse itself, I’m using a Micro Swipe technique - which uses small, flexible swipe tools to manipulate your paint, and silicone oil to create bubbles. My transparent base is regular US Floetrol.

I created my blue tape template by sketching on kitchen parchment paper, taping over the sketch, and cutting it out. Warming the tape with a hair dryer really helps it make a good seal!

My paint is all mixed with floetrol (about 2:1 floetrol to paint) and thinned water to a medium-thin consistency. Paint-mixing video is here!    • Mixing Paint for Acrylic Pouring - ST...

The original seahorse was what inspired me to start pouring. I don't think I'm at the seahorse level yet, but the colours you have chosen are beautiful and I'm further inspired to try it sooner than later. Thank you, Anna. 🙂✌️

I would like to see you do an owl. This turned out great. I wasn't so sure about the yellow color but I like it.

Thank you so much for your videos! I have learned so much and can't thank you enough! I have discovered I don't even have to use the tape at all, I just pencil sketch the shape and cover with leading edge paint.
