"Taking care of the ones who took care of us"

#DonnieEdwards is a former #NFL football player who has spent the last 22 years giving back to our military. He has done 9 #USO tours, visited many military bases and accompanied hundreds of WWII veterans and Vietnam veterans back to #battlefields

In April of 2006 Donnie Edwards brought WWII veterans back to their battlefields for the first time. Since that time he has accompanied hundreds of WWII veterans from the top of Mount Suribachi in Japan to the top of Eagles Nest in Germany. Donnie works tirelessly to fulfill the wishes and needs of our veterans and to give them the honor and respect they so readily deserve.

Your generosity will help to ensure the foundation is able to provide these experiences to veterans in the future.

The freedoms we enjoy today are in no small measure due to their sacrifices, let us repay them with gratitude and honor.

"If the bad man ever comes again, we are coming back to take care of you" literally gives me goosebumps every time I watch this clip.
  • Hi guys. I'm lucky enough to live in Normandy, not far from there, so i can come to this place every year to pay my respect. I've never been able to visit USA, so i imagine a lot of you has never been in my country. Well first of all i want you to know that your boys are in Peace here... the place is beautiful, peaceful and quiet... you can hear the waves and the wind in trees that comes from their homeland... It is really a good place to rest, altough of course it's not Home... I wish that you can come in the future to see this. And please ! leave a comment if you want some infos, tips or help for accomodations. It would be a pleasure to help you to come here .I wish you all the best :)

These men aren’t in their 90s, they are 18 years old with 77 years of experience
  • “They never lived to love and marry a woman or feel the joy of a newborn baby in their arms” that hit me hard
  • My grandfather died when I was 9 or 10 years old. Little did I know at that time what he did for this country. He was Omaha Beach 6 days after the main assault. He wrote in his journal that they were still bringing the dead off the beach. He was a lieutenant and he had an aid that was under his command. A German mortar shell landed and he watched his aid get blown apart by the mortar. Shrapnel teared into his leg and he was no longer able to fight. Don’t remember the exact date that this happened but he received the Purple Heart. I now thank every veteran both old and new each chance I get. Because treading my grandfathers journal taught me of the courage and bravery these men and women of back then and in current times have to lay their lives on the line for the freedoms we have in this country. God Bless our veterans and thank you for everything you have sacrificed in the name of Freedom.
  • I am a veteran of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. This video moved me to tears. Respect to these men. Truly, our greatest generation.
  • It’s been 75 years but they still remember their comrades name... I’m crying
  • The shot with the veteran looking up at the paratroopers jumping from the planes was beautiful
  • I’m 16 (Almost 17) and I love to learn about history. Especially WW2. Nobody will forget the sacrifices these veterans had to go through. God bless them all! 🫡✝️🎖️🇺🇸
  • I am tearing up watching this. Thank you for the greatest generation who sacrificed for our freedoms today that so many take for granted or even want to take away. My dad is a vet of the Air Force. My dad is an amazing person. I love and respect him so much. He made me the man I am today. I am so thankful for the lessons he taught me and the hard love he showed me. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for everyone who serves for our country. God Bless you all.
  • their generration was the bravest and most honorable god bless every single one of you
  • “When they say we are in a time where there are no heroes; they just don’t know where to look” -Ronald Reagan
