How long do you like to rest before competing?
-
thanks for the tip, good luck with your fight next Saturday, I'm fighting the same night as well on the MFL 22 card
-
This couldn’t have come at a better time, I’ve got my next fight in 12 days and I’m working like a mad lad.
-
Thanks Gabriel Enjoying the videos and enjoing applying it in the punching bag and receive knowledge in striking
-
Thank you for your content. Keep it coming!

I have to say that I appreciate the way you present topics like this; with the sort of “this is my personal experience, but here are some other variables that may affect you differently….” Really demonstrates your humility.

Good luck my Man

Thank you, my fellow champion for your insight and wisdom. I’m a boxer that always makes weight since I’m very disciplined and focused. Before my most recent fight I took the day off before the fight and I am glad I did! I was stronger, relaxed, and in the right mindset. I was blessed to get the “Win” in Mexico 🇲🇽, “GANADOR”🥇. When I don’t have a fight in the near future or up until 2 months before my fight, I find it best to take at least 1 rest day- sometimes 2 but no more. That’s because my boxing training sessions are 2 to 2 1/2 hours (26-30 three minute rounds). I also run at least 5 days a week. Basically, as athletes, we must listen to our bodies. Personally, as a boxer, it’s best for me to train 5-6 days a week with one or two rest days. Rest days are very important! God bless you and thank you. 😎🔥🥇 🥊🥊🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💖✝️

Good luck for Saturday mate 💪👊

Very great information

The guys/gals and coaches in my muay thai class are sooo silly that they literally do hard training and hard cardio literally up until the day of the fight....so silly. I remember being in the friday night class before a saturday fight and watching the fight team do super hard cardio with us and I was like..wtf are you guys thinking.

I fight this Saturday… I trained hard for this. I Had a good hard sparring last Thursday and some good sparring last Saturday. Monday I did your conditioning sprints, boxing workout, and calisthenics. I took Tuesday and Wednesday completely off cause I caught a cold and was feeling beat down from training camp and work. Hopefully Thursday I feel better so I can get a shakeout in. Was planning on taking Friday off anyway. Already on weight too

on point

What about sparing? We have a few people in gym competing in the TBA Classics in 12 days..

Good stuff. IMO, guys train too hard too close to the fight (although I work with mostly grapplers....but I have prepped MMA fighters). I like to keep intensity maxed, but 7 days out cut duration. No more hard striking sparring and you have to watch wrestling also, as it cause more injuries than people think. I will keep some hard ground rolling in (but again careful w/ subs). Tuesday is just fairly hard driling, but total training is under and hour (if we are not cutting a lot of weight). Wed is about 30-40 minutes of hard drilling, Thurs is about 20 minutes of lighter drilling. Lots of stretching during this period. Friday must be complete rest. I work mostly with wrestlers now and they compete so much I just try and give them (and am sometimes at odds w/ their high school coach) a lighter day of wrestling on Tuesday before a wed match. For a big Saturday tourney I advocate Friday completely off if possible.
