Great video young Lady. I can see why you are so proud of your Dad and how he and you have progressed through the years. May it long continue. The way you talk about your Dad just shows your love for him and you have every reason to be emotional, must admit when watching the video at that point I had a wee lump in my throat and I`m 74 years old.

What a brilliant story! .... And it is strange how Fate plays our hands for us - I left school and started as an Apprentice Chef, but after a while I decided 'I' wanted to be a mechanic too! .... I took several jobs while I looked, and at age 17 I was given a placement at our local garage - But it didn't start for 2 weeks ... In the meantime My step-dad said to go in to work with him to earn a few bob .. (He was a plasterer) ... So I did, although I didn't much fancy the idea at the time .... Result!!?? - I worked on my cars/motorbikes in the evenings and weekends, became a 'good' full-time plasterer - And never looked back πŸ‘πŸ€

Nice to see the history of where your Dad started from and right up to what both of you are building together. Who knows, maybe Johnny will have a similar story in years to come. It's the first time I've seen an AEC Militant as a tipper, usually a wrecker or Forestry tractor. Here's to the next 38 years with Underwood Plant πŸ‘πŸ‘

Hard work, persistence and attention to detail not to mention honesty, loyalty and dedication and this is just the start of building a strong company. Then their's all of the stress, breakdowns, bad payers and I'll health to contend with not to mention taking care of your wife and family and keeping them safe. Many dream of starting their own business, many do and fail dismally because they lacked one of the core elements mentioned above, but when it works it becomes a legacy and as the owners you are filled with pride in your community who know that it didn't come easy. You should all be very proud Amy, I know I for one am watching you all graft. β€πŸ˜ŠπŸŽ‰

Thanks Amy, it's great to hear the back story of how well your dad has worked and guided you to where you are now. Heart warming to see the emotions of how close a bond you have with him. Cherish every minute you have with your dad as it will last with you forever.

  • Originally a Fort William lad this video brings back many memories of my own Dad with his range of machinery. Always great to see the lovely scenery down country from Fort William. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ
  • Fantastic to see your whole back story of how your dad built up the business and the fact that you got emotional shows you really care about the business. I'm sure you and your dad will continue to grow the business in the future and it won't be long before wee johnny boy will be digging trenches and falling out with you and your dad. You'll have deja vu when wee johnny is falling out with you about things lol. Great video and keep them coming.

Brilliant video Amy, great to hear the story of your companies origin. I too love looking back at pictures of trucks I have driven over the last 39 years, keep up the great work your level of enthusiasm and your lovely smile keeps us all going through the good and bad times.❀️
  • what a women! awesome history!! my dad is a trucker driver here in south brazil for 35 years. i love to look at the box of old photos. old trucks etc... hugs from brazil digger girl!

A great video history of your family business there Amy, and some of those earlier machines bring back memories to me, early Hymacs and Leyland trucks 😰😰 but you're quite right about the era when you could just swap an engine out and reconditioned one back in in a day no bother at all. I started my apprenticeship as a fitter in 1966 so I can relate to a lot of what you were talking about, some of the brands we didn't get in NZ and that's excavators and trucks so great to see you looking positive for the future and thanks for sharing πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ

  • Great video Amy. Loved hearing the history, I can see how proud you are of your dad and I bet he’s proud of you too, you are both grafters and you deserve all the luck in the world, I hope the business carries on for a long time.
  • Jesus Amy, you got me going too. You and your dad are grafters and just remember he will be as proud of you as you as you are of him. Top Team 😊😊
