So an opportunity popped up with a really good find, so I went and bought it for $500!!! This really shows you what you can do to find your first project car, find a budget suv, etc with minimal risk and a lot of potential reward!!! We used all common hand tools and did this job at home ourselves! Craftsman was bought by Stanley and now they have decent tools for the price! Worth taking a look at for sure! I messed with the 150 piece set for the first time and I liked it. It got the job done and I think you guys looking for your first set would find it to be a good starter set! When Chris buys his own house it’s gonna be a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom and 46 car garage
  • Chris is not just a mechanic, he's a film maker and a story teller. My attention span has been destroyed by the Web but I can easily watch every second of Chris's videos and enjoy all of it.

I'm not a car person but this guy is making me want to do all my own repairs.

There is nothing more rewarding than being able to fix your own AND other vehicles. I found CF back in 2015 and got hooked. I began fixing up my car at the time (mk4 golf) and ended up enjoying it so much I went to tech school. Long story short, I am now a mechanic and I have been able to use every single trick in my career that I have learned from ChrisFix. To this day, whenever tackling a new problem, 9/10 times there is a tutorial I can learn from. I turn it on loud in the garage and go to work- It’s like he’s right there with me. Thanks Chris. Jersey!

Side note: It's always a good idea to apply anti-seize to exhaust nuts and bolts.

Chris, I have followed you from the very beginning. Then I lived in the US, now I am back home in the UK. I am a car guy that is older than your dad. I am so pleased to see your hard work pay off. Good luck to you. So in this example the guys exhaust rusted out, he ignored it, melted his fuel tank (lucky to not cause a calamtous fire) so he could not refuel, and blamed thefuel pump ... wow. What a win for you.
  • When Chris was showing us the paint I thought the microphone was his hair and I was like “Chris no”
  • @CornStreetVEVO
I love how he says "we" fixed it like we the viewers were right there next to him the whole time, makes me feel like he's the father i never had 😭
  • One thing to mention is that a blown fuse is rarely the actual problem, it’s usually a symptom of a bigger problem somewhere else In the car. You mentioned that in this video with the fuel pump that ran dry so kudos for that! Always love your videos
  • @TheBriansle
I'm not into cars, but this guy really is helping me think like a problem solver / engineer. Brilliant channel
  • @steve-adams
Oh man, that feeling when the car runs. Every time I fix one (I drive shitty cars and need to fix them a lot) and it starts, it's like... Ahhh man, the best.

ChrisFix: "He wanted $1,000; I offered $500. He was a shrewd negotiator though, so we met right smack dab in the middle at $500."

If you wanted to make the leather seats look really really nice again, just throw a bit of warm water on them and use a hair dryer to slowly evaporate the water. The leather will shrink back to close to original, and doing this is SUPER cheap for a really nice outcome
