The Link between Castle and Caps was one of the hardest flattish trails that I ever did. There are lots of roots to crawl over. Really disliked that trail, and I say that about very few trails. You saw plenty of nice waterfalls on this hike. Lots of water. Great Gully looks like such an interesting trail which I have never done. The Subway is fun! August is THE best month for hiking for me. The majority of my hikes were in August and September when there are less bugs.
