"This Is What Winning Looks Like" is a disturbing new documentary about the ineptitude, drug abuse, sexual misconduct, and corruption of the Afghan security forces as well as the reduced role of US Marines due to the troop withdrawal. In part one, we see just how chaotic and hopeless the situation is in Sangin, one of the most violent towns in Afghanistan.

As a Marine, I can say that telling lies to cover up what you actually seeing is very hard. We tell things the way it is and all lies be damned.

You can hear the frustration in the marines voices

I’m so glad this exists, I get to peer back 13 years into the past and see what everyone else saw in 2009, thank you to all journalists. You save our stories, the importance of that will always be greater than most will ever realize

Even Abu Hajaar took his job more seriously than these Afghan soldiers

When I was in college 2011, there was a veteran in my class. For whatever reason, he agreed to answer questions about his time. I asked him "Do you think that any of our efforts will last when we leave". He said "no I don't think they will" and the whole class went silent. Looking back I regret asking such a pointed question but it taught us the truth about these conflicts. Needless to say, I was not surprised when the government collapsed.

"Remember when we supported the Muj's against the Russians, and we left all those weapons there and we spent years and millions of dollars getting those weapons, particularly the Stinger Missiles back, we're not making the same mistake again" 2021: Lol......

Revisiting this documentary after watching it a few years ago, and after the fall of Afghanistan. I could not possibly be less surprised about the outcome in 2021.
  • When I look back over these older Vice pieces they almost always stand the test of time.

Only thing more dangerous than a competent enemy, is an incompetent ally.

This is what having a bad team on Rainbow six siege feels like
  • This video shows exactly the reason why we left Afghanistan after twenty year's being there , you can not change a people's culture ,or the mentality of a people that don't want to change it themselves , We were shooting ourselves in the foot ,, Great video !
