  • The crew of the Harder gave thier lives so we can have the freedom we enjoy today. It's interesting to see that the torpedo tubes are open...makes me believe it was lost during an attack run🤔. To all the men and their family members.. Thank You for your sacrifice!!! A disabled US Army Veteran
  • My Grand Uncle Lloyd Hammond Sommerschield was a Coxswain on the "USS Harder" My grandmother (Lloyds older sister) someone I was very close with would share stories with me about USS Harders's accomplishments in the Pacific Theatre. They truly were a legendary submarine. They single handedly played a huge role in turning the tide against the Japanese naval forces. I am appreciative of Tiburon Subsea's incredible work. Thanks to all military for your service. We can now have closure. "Hit em Harder!" RIP Grand Uncle

To all the crews on Eternal Patrol: Thank you for your sacrifice. You saved the world for us. May we work that your sacrifice was not in vain. From a fellow Navy veteran in gratitude and honor.

R.I.P to all those souls on board. Thank you for your service.

My grandfather was stationed on the Harder. He broke his arm during R&R after the 5th war patrol. He was left behind for the final patrol. He went on to serve on the USS Gunnell, he retired from the Navy in the late 50s. My father and myself went on to qualify in submarines and serve our country during the Cold War.

It’s in pretty good condition with all things considered. R.I.P

This type of journalism drives me nuts. “I have 15 questions that I am going to machine gun you with instead of having a discussion.”
  • Fair winds and following seas all submarine sailors on eternal patrol
  • @LawtonDigital
Excellent news! Also, please don't allow Tom Llamas to interview people. He steps all over them and isn't registering a word they say.

Where does the name Harder come from? Its not only that generation that does not talk about war. My vietnam Vet Pops was also silent about his tours there. Those sailors on the Harder were Hard Men!! This is the right kind of expeditiòn.

I know growing up the tale of the Merrimack vs. Monitor came up frequently over the years in school. Certainly was a novel occasion that changed the way naval warfare was to be fought ever after. Might make a really interesting movie if they have enough material on the two vessels and their crew.
  • @jmworx
south china sea or west philippine sea?
  • The octopus on the side of the sub was really cool. What are the chances? I really hope to hear more about this sub. A truly fascinating discovery. Hopefully the cres remains can brought home. May they rest in peacein the arms of the Lord.
  • Is it possible for a Reporter to ask a thought-provoking question? Top 10 STUPID questions by a reporter: How do you feel finding dead people? What's it like winning a lottery? How do you feel that your parents are deceased? What's it like losing your best friend? How do you feel now that you have a terminal illness? Etc...... Can someone ask an intelligent question??
