Something that I haven’t seen people addressing is that the “audio log” in the room with the ride fight isn’t actually a recording. It doesn’t show the typical sheet of paper in the corner like with all the other audio logs, but instead provides captions on the bottom of the screen like the regular speaking dialogue (a similar effect can be seen in the chapter two update, when the music studio’s audio log cuts off, the sheet fades away, and then Sammy himself says “I said can I get an amen?”). When first playing this chapter it made me think that Bertrum’s fight was going to begin, but the randomized movement of the ride is very good evidence that it is not possessed. Maybe Bertrum is speaking to Henry from another area (where he can’t really see that Henry isn’t Joey) and activating the ride from there.

Henry : (makes a cute new cartoon character) Joey : "ew too kawaii, disgusting, DENIED !" Also Joey : (secretly steals the idea and changes the cute lil smile to one set of cartoon teeth like a Chad)
  • "Hey Henry," "Yup?" "Can i copy your work?" "Yeah but change it up a bit."
  • His voice makes me so comfortable for some reason.
  • Personally, I feel that the ride IS Bertrum. After all, the ride itself is a cage in a way as you can see Bertrum's head uncomfortably trapped within it. The reason as to why Bertrum isn't exactly aiming correctly is the possibility of his mind being too "corrupted". We've seen that the Lost Ones aren't exactly sane, one of them was smashing their head in the wall with incredible force after all. Plus, I feel it has something to do with possible limitations the ride itself has. It is possible that the arms are "fixed" in a way making it hard to hit someone who has complete freedom of movement. That was my first assumption upon seeing him for the first time. For the audio cue, well, Bertrum was simply in a dormant state until the sound of his own voice woke him up. There's not a lot to do when you're trapped in a ride for decades, sleep might be the only freedom you have.
  • While i think your analisis of Bertrum is amazing, i have a few issues with the theory of what the octopus ride really is. Bertrum was very proud of his job, he saw his creations as his own children, and Bendy Land would be the single biggest thing he had ever done. The last thing Bertrum wanted was to see it fail, he wanted his archivement to succeed, but he wanted it to be HIS archivement. Bertrum hated Joey but he didn't want him dead, he wanted to show him a lesson and prove his dominance. Besides, Joey choosing to silence Bertrum (if he saw something he shouldn't have) turning him into an octopus ride made sense acording to his plan. He wanted mindless ink slaves who would work for nothing, he wanted real looking cartoons to make his theme park a world sensation and he would definetly want an atraction with no need to be maintained. Or perhaps turning Bertrum into a theme ride would be part of Joey's trend of ironic punishments for everyone who oposes him. I dunno if you will answer but everyone else who has any take on this is welcome to reply.
  • "Joey Drew may have enslaved these poor workers for his inhumane and bizarre experiments." iFunny ad comes on

So uh.... let’s talk about that Question mark’s ‘transparent’ background at 0:34
  • We knew bendy land would be a thing as grant says “I heard mr drew had a new idea and it sure ain’t gonna be cheap”Disney land cost a lot of money to build witch would mean that he’s referring to bendy land
  • I think that bertrums trap is reason for Joey being in wheelchair
  • There’s a giant face in the middle of the machine that you didn’t even mention but used as a picture to put on screen when talking about Bertrum. I think Bertrum is controlling it. Here are the reasons. 1) The way he attacks is probably because how the fight is positioned, rather than any lore. You can easily not get hit by just standing away from the swinging arms, so why would they make the arms track you? It would just follow you around while not actually doing anything. I’m pretty sure this fight was just made as a “only get close to it when it’s vulnerable” fight so they made the arms swing randomly around to deter you from going near, and inducing a sense of a threat of you. 2) As I said first, there’s literally a giant head in the ride. A face that even you used to put on screen when you were talking about Bertrum, meaning you think that’s him. If he built the ride to be controlled by an AI, why would he put a giant, deformed face in it? It’s probably Bertrums dead body deformed by the ink, and he then went on to posses the ride. 3) I saw some other comments here say this, so props to them. But when you play the audio log that starts the fight, it’s in white captions on the bottom of the screen, instead of a note page with Bertrums name on the left like how the logs usually are. The white captions are used when someone physical in the game is talking to Henry (Like Sammy, and Alice Angel does). The fact that Bertrum speaks with white captions means that he is THERE, in the room, talking to Henry. And where else could he be but inside the ride? Since it isn’t a recording, unless Bertrum is somehow still alive somewhere, the only reason why the ride activated is because Bertrum is controlling the ride. 4) Bertrum seems to only have a grudge with Joey. If his plan were to make the ride malfunction on purpose in Bendy Land, yes that would probably get Bendy Land shut down due to harming people, but it would hurt Bertrums reputation as an engineer WAY more than it will hurt Joeys. Realistically, when a amusement park shuts down because one of the many rides created by a person malfunctions, the designer/engineer is the one at fault, not the park owners. Joey could’ve easily removed that one ride that Bertrum made to malfunction, and reopened Bendy Land with the rest of the rides no problem. I think Bertrum would know that wouldn’t work. Also, knowing that Bertrum has a big ego and is proud to be known as one of the greatest park designers, would he really throw all of his life’s hard work and reputation away just so he can fail at getting revenge? No. What happened, is that this ride was supposed to be a normal ride, but Bertrum died somehow in the studio, and possessed it with the hatred for Joey still in him.
  • I for one actually thought the Bertrum Ride was supposed to have a voice, like it was truly possessed. It wouldn't react to Henry himself ( I think they didn't even got to know each other), rather it would react thinking anyone who got trapped in the room to be Joey Drew. It's mouth move a bit when defeat, like was coughing, but no sound was heard, so give space to an update of design like they did for the first chapters.
  • Ps I think burtrum’s fate was when joey said he wanted to “get rid” of him He threw him inside the ride and the gears bulged in him making him active Then the flood started Witch bloated him Making his head huge
  • @albergc
3:05 I thought he was going to say "the great papyrus "
  • wait let me make it right- Ink Demon=Joey Drew. Alice Angel=Suzie Campbell. Boris=Wally Franks. Lost Ones=Old Workers. Projectionist=Norman Polk. Sammy Lawrence=Sammy Lawrence?? Allison Angel=Allison Pendle. Tom=Thomas Connor. AM I RIGHT??
  • @k.b7865
Did anyone notice during Lacie Benton's voice part that there was crying in the background?
  • Your theories never fail to impress me. I'm glad there's people like you who make awesome theories!!!
  • In the Dreams Come to Life novel, Joey actually announces his colleague as Bertie. Bertrum obviously doesn’t like being called Bertie, like he’s Joey’s child. And Joey also announces the creation of Bendyland coming together, ready to soon be alive. Who wouldn’t get angry if a man were to take what’s yours and claim it as his? Joey acted like Bendyland was all him. Bertrum did nothing but model. Drew acted like it was his imagination, his dreams coming to life. And only his dreams.
  • what makes me sad is hearing the lost ones cry that just destroys my heart like jeez
