Host Morgan Freeman examines what various faith traditions predict about the End of Days. He journeys to the desert where he pores over the Dead Sea Scrolls, and to Rome to decode the enigmatic Mark of the Beast: 666. A meditative session with one of Buddhism’s holiest men begins to realign Morgan’s perspective—what if the apocalypse isn't a planetary bloodbath, but rather a mental paradigm shift?

About The Story of God with Morgan Freeman:
Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman explores the meaning of life, God, and many big questions in between in an effort to understand how religion has evolved and shaped society. A different divine subject is covered in each hourlong episode, titles of which include "Creation," "The Devil Inside," "Afterlife," "Apocalypse," and "Who Is God?" To explore these topics, host and narrator Freeman visits nearly 20 cities in seven countries to see some of the world's greatest religious sites, among them Jerusalem's Wailing Wall, India's Bodhi Tree, Mayan temples in Guatemala, and the pyramids of Egypt, and he immerses himself in religious experiences and rituals. "In some places I found answers, and others led to more questions. The constant through it all is that we're all looking to be part of something bigger than us. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that we certainly are," Freeman says.

  • The day Morgan Freeman passes away the world will lose one heck of a legend. Something about his voice just captures my attention and draws me into the story or plot.

My eight year old daughter told me that Morgan Freeman was the only person who should be allowed to be a narrator. Coming from a kid, that's some heavy kudos.

Morgan Freeman is a National Treasure...His calm, intelligent voice provides a blanket of assurance when he speaks. This show of which he is a part of, is absolutely brilliant.
  • Excellent, I really like Morgan Freeman. What I have learned in my 61 years is that when things don't go "my way," it is because God has something better, I just have to be patient.

In Greek “apocalypse” means the unveiling of truth, perspective is vital

I just appreciate Mr. Freeman’s way of being with people… his willingness to understand different perspectives is such a good example for how to interact with all people in the world.
  • I've often thought Morgan Freeman should be the voice on our navigation systems it's so soothing we would arrive in peace even if we were running late.

I think Morgan Freeman should be awarded a doctorate degree ( PhD) of some sort by a reputable university in the world, he does a lot of research & therefore deserves to be addressed to as Dr. Morgan Freeman. He offers a lot to humanity.
  • Dear sir Morgan! 19 years ago I got so tired of religions. I realized that I did not know God. It hurt me that I did not know him. So I cried out to him. The only thing I asked him was to show me who He is! And he did answered me the following days. Jesús is the way, truth, and the life. For me. Iam at peace.

If we ever have that last moment on earth as a species, I hope I hear a voice like Morgan Freeman telling us, “You’re not alone. We’re together. We don’t necessarily know what we’ll see when we open our eyes on the other side, but as long as we are together, there will be hope. There will be joy. And there will be love.”

Thank you National Geographic and for choosing Morgan Freeman to be the voice of opening my eyes to the possibility of the apocalypse. I am 80 years old on the journey to the valley of death. So many questions so many thoughts of what to expect. I believe Jesus Christ is my savior no matter the journey I have taken up to my present time and for the journey I will take from now to the time of my death. I pray for redemption. I pray I will be received into heaven and be reunited with those I have loved. I believe. ❤️❤️❤️
