This is the start to finish renovation of my tiny Library / Dining / Study / Work / Guest bedroom. (Story 78) I'm living small, so I bestowed a number of active functions unto this room, being clever with design and built in units so the space is organised and every square inch has a function. This room is for activity, the living room (which I'm currently renovating) is for downtime. The total house is 45sqm/485sqft and I've been renovating it on my own the past few years.

For more information on these builds, there are many videos (Story 57-74) about the entire process that started Summer 2023. This video is a slightly condensed version, or it would be much too long :)
I thought it would be interesting to have the entire room build in just the one overview video, so here it is!

In this video:
00:00 Intro & design plans
01:06 Preparations
02:09 Library framework & doorway nooks
09:32 Library
19:06 Desk
23:39 Banquette / bed
38:00 Art wall
42:38 Side table
47:24 Result

Rosie, you haven’t really told us how it feels living in the room? Sleeping in the bed, sitting in your fluffy chair, sitting by your desk. You now have a calming space you made by yourself Must feel absolutely amazing ❤️
  • I live in Australia Rosie and new builds over here are terrible. My husband said to me that " if we build a new home I'd get Rosie to build it" that's how impressed he was when I showed him one of your videos. 😀 You're doing a great job. ❤
  • So. If you´re ever sick and tired of editing, adjusting that sped-up timelapse for the gazillionth time, wondering if anyone will even appreciate it? Yes. Yes, we do. "Oh, ouch, Oh my, get in there, oh no, here we go, oh, okay" You´re quite a rare type of human being, a true inspiration to us couchdwellers. Dont ever change.
  • Rosie - i have to admit something: I am 50 years old, and have been DIYing things since teenage years. When i started following you, I found it so refreshing because even if you did not have all the skills, you had the courage to start building things and renovating. I felt at some times when watching your stuff "oh, she is doing this in an odd way" or "I would have done that differently". Still, your attitude towards the renovating and your courage and the cute things you built gave ME enthusiasm and energy to start doing more things around my house. (so i built some furniture and started carving spoons, cups etc). And then the thing I have to admit: you have become so good in the last two years! What I think right now: "OMG she knows so much more than me". I do not know if you realize yourself how much you have learned. Ok - confession over. I wanted to tell you that you should feel so proud about all that you have achieved.

A masterclass in patience, diligence and planning. Impressed that you never seem to be covered in sawdust like I seem to be when I do carpentry!
  • Rosie….when you laid on your bed, turned to the camera and said, “This is amazing “…I actually cried. I’m a 71 year old American woman who recently built my own tiny house with the help of my son. I’ve watched your journey with amazement. Your attention to detail, your patience in coaxing stubborn timbers into place, and the joy and love you’ve put into your home has been an absolute joy to watch!! Thank you Rosie! Thank you! Congratulations! Your home is beautiful!

Struggling, can’t sleep. Difficult times. Thank you for your channel Rosie. You bring a calm that eases my worries in this moment.

I rarely leave comments but GOOD LORD you are absolutely amazing. In the almost wilderness, all alone, building intricate furniture from scratch. Simply amazing, I look up to you <3
  • You are proof that people don’t need all sorts of fancy tools to build stuff. You are inspirational. I love your “I can do it” attitude
  • Its always useful to have a video that shows a job from start to finish, it showcases all the work.
  • I am up early. It’s just 6:00 AM, here, and I’ve just sat down with my first cup of coffee. I have journaled, a bit, put in my earbuds and listened to some sweet comforting music, and, now, I open YouTube to see Rosie, right at the top, looking at me from the beautiful space she is making, and inviting me to join her, there, for a while. Thank, Rosie! I am very grateful for you! ❤
  • It's amazing how complicated things can be if Rosie is doing her Lego job. I am loving it.😀
  • Rosie, what you have shown us that all an individual needs is a dream, passion, desire & a “can do” attitude to achieve you goals! So very proud of you!

Your perfectionism is poetry, and humbling. So appreciate your quiet precision and immaculate taste ~ from your designs to your attire. You are a class of your own. Your videos are the most wonderful gift for your followers. Just overjoyed at my good fortune to chance upon your videos. Adorations, dear Rosie.

I admire how you try to do things alone, even when stuff is difficult and heavy. You try to find a way :)
  • I noticed more and more you wearing your hand made clothes. You are amazing at everything you do, even your videos. A pleasure to watch.
  • My childhood’s home’s interior was all knotty pine and I loved it and still do. It was so different from other homes and the house always smelled wonderful because of all the wood. The look of your cabin’s interior brings back such fond memories for me.

Just love your delight in precision design, Rosie 😊 (and then the practical side of adapting it to a wonky house 😂) I like this idea of a showcase episode showing the whole build, along with the individual episodes showing the detail 👍

Wow. For someone with no carpentry skills before you are spectacular. I am so proud impressed.
