Wolverine vs Deadpool first fight comes in the 2009 X-Men Origins Wolverine, a film that takes Hugh Jackman on a solo origin story with Victor Creed Sabertooth (Liev Schreiber), Team X, and Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson. Erik Voss revisits this X-Men movie to explain why it's considered one of the weaker X-Men films, and what details in this film could come back in Deadpool 3.

Good thing I didn't know who Deadpool was when I watched this movie
  • @mort8660
Wades sword sequence in this movie was also called back to in dp2 as a joke LOL
  • @arkoudiou
That scene when Wade Wilson cuts a bullet into two pieces actually came back in Deadpool 2 when he was fighting Cable in the truck, Cable shot him multiple times, Wade acted like he was dodging the bullets but he actually ate them.
  • I remember being really excited for all the origins movies that were supposed to come out like Magneto Origins

I'm STILL disappointed we didn't get more of Gambit. But despite whatever they tried to give us with Deadpool 😆, I love this movie.

Unpopular opinion, in the 2000s, this was my favorite X-Men movie. I just wanted to know Wolverine's origin story. I didn't find out until years later how much the screenwriters changed the story from the comics.

We're getting closer and closer to First Class.🙌 The best X-Men film in my opinion. Despite what happened to Darwin because that wasn't right.
  • One detail I like about the opening credits montage is while Logan stays calm and collective in combat throughout the years, Victor becomes more and more aggressive. Also, the whole "He wasn't your father" bit really caught me off-guard in theaters. The actor playing Logan's supposed father really looks like Hugh Jackman when you compare them side by side.

Honestly, I like this movie's cast. I think they did an alright job with some of the characters. I liked Taylor Kitsch as Gambit, and I liked Blob and Wraith. Lynn Collins is always a win and I also really like this version of Victor. Tyler will always have a soft spot in my heart as Sabretooth, but I also really like Liev's portrayal.

The bullet split move he did "Attempt" to do hilariously in Deadpool 2 fighting against Cable😂

something that always bugged me about Origins is when Logan is breaking out of the Weapon X facility, when he carves the X in the metal wall, there's four pieces of metal right in the center of the X that literally float in place when they should have fallen out. They really did not want physics in this movie.

Bradley's powers were used in Deadpool, thanks to his powers Stryker was able to control Wade with a computer.
  • @emmalovmusic
Wraith’s teleportation looks similar to how they did the temporal/time slipping/spaghettification for Loki 👀
  • @JJSEDITS
Funny how Victor looks the most like his father even though he tried to distant himself from him
  • @blamerebel
So glad you guys are doing these for the older movies 🎉 I barely remember any of that stuff!
  • @mashudusimone578
I loved this movie back when it came out! Gambit was by far the best character in this film. Such a pity we never ever got to see more of this character.
  • @JimboMountain
It’s really good to watch a positive and enthusiastic video about this film Also that bullet slice shot goes hard 👊

I first saw this movie when I was 10 years old extremely sick with the flu. I was in and out of consciousness on the couch and my dad put this movie on while he was taking care of me. I just remember seeing the screen and seeing Logan’s sprinting to the barn bare ass naked and I always thought it was just a fever dream until I rewatched this movie.
