Legendary game with a legendary performance by Kobe Bryant. First he hits the game-tying shot of the great steal by Smush Parker and secondly he hits the game-winning buzzer beating shot which gave the Lakers the 3-1 lead over the Phoenix Suns in the 06 Playoffs. This shot is one of the best game winners in NBA-history. Kobe Bryant, the best player who ever played the game!

kobe averaged 35pts the entire season that year and scored that legendary 81pt game.. and led a team with kwame brown/smush parker to the playoffs... it's unbelievable that he didn't win MVP that year
  • I remember this is the only laker game I went to in LA. My father picked me up when he scored that shot. I still get chills, I can remember the atmosphere. It was an eruption of emotion and celebration. Its a shame we lost that series, but shows what determination and not giving up can accomplish. RIP Kobe and RIP to my father Eduardo Navarro
  • This is probably the only sports clip on YouTube from 2006 that's in HD. Everything else from 2006 look's like it was recorded with a potato.

Gianna was born literally days after this game. RIP man this is too sad
  • Whether it was deliberate or not, the almost full minute of silence from Mike Breen after Kobe made the shot is so so good. Siting back and letting the sound of mass hysteria from everyone in the arena tell the story, whilst the cameras move from different POVs capturing different reactions from Suns players to Jack Nicholson. The definition of poetry in motion.

The pearl drop lay up to tie just beautiful and Kobe in the clutch is just in a coma unbelievable to watch this man play ball
  • That interaction with Kobe and Parker after that turnover and the game tying shot was unbelievable! Kobe giving praise and credit to Parker, that was what made this moment even more special, when I go back and think about this memory, that's what I think about most

Came back to this after the tragic news. Remember this series like it was yesterday, precisely because of this exact series of plays by Kobe. #mamba4ever

while of course this shot is iconic, the commentary is one of the best ever. the way Mike Breen gets excited when he says "ball knocked away stolen by Parker" gives you that feeling that something exciting is about to happen. and then the rest is history. Mike Breen is a living legend for that bang
