A month ago I found ancient steps carved into solid rock. I climbed them. What I found at the top, and in the canyon as a whole, was extraordinary. I returned during the summer solstice event, to see if the towers might be ancient astronomical markers. What I discovered deepened the mystery.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the calm mature delivery that isn't given like someone reading from a script and over-emphazing every other word. In a world of characters, and attention seakers, this channel is extremely refreshing.
  • I'm 81 and housebound with a husband on hospice. I'm not saying that for sympathy only to let you know how much your adventures mean to some of us. As a desert dweller I can still enjoy the beauty that you show us every trip and I thank you for it. By the way, I especially enjoyed the one you tube messed with. Sorry about that it was breathtaking.
  • Hey DD, I'm a full blooded Navajo addicted to your channel. When we were little kids in canyons like the GC. My family live where they're canyons in NM. It brings back memories of the fun & sun times we had exploring in caves& finding art on the rocks from our ancestors. You have an awesome channel. I can't wait to hook your channel onto my bigger TV screen. Keep up the Good work. I will join your Patreon channel too! This demonitizing is just wrong. I don't see anything wrong with your video. Plus, that was a fine climb with foot guides on the arch climbing footage. We did not see that extremely dangerous at all. I'm sure all the Navajo tribal members would agree with me. I love your camping endeavors on the rocks. We loved sleeping on those rock canyons too.
  • At seventy-seven yrs young, with heart failure, I am no longer able to hike and explore. Through your video experiences, my mind and heart are made more full. Thank you, and don't be discouraged by someone who has never laced up a pair of hiking boots.

I am a 61 year old granny from the UK, I have always been interested in the petroglyphs and the Anasazi or Pueblo natives, your channel is teaching me a lot and as I will never walk where you do it’s a privilege to accompany you.
  • I am almost 62, live in Italy. Thank you for letting me travel with my mind and wander with you 🤗🤗
  • I am 71 with liver cancer. I live your adventures vicariously, and love your brave adventures
  • Andrew, you are producing some of the best content on youtube . I'm 74 and my days of trekking is in the past. Thank you for taking me along.
  • What? They demonetized that cool video of you going up those steps. YouTube demonetization is getting ridiculous.
  • Im heart warmed by the amount of comments I read from your viewers that are unable to get outside much. Must make you feel pretty good.
  • Too much naked rock got the moderator confused.... crazy. Your contributions are responsible, respectful and awesome. Thank you so much!
  • I swear, if youtube starts messing with THE Desery Drifter; we gonna have a big problem. Thank you for creating some of the most interesting and beautiful content around!
  • YT just decides to randomly turn off comments on some of my videos for no apparent reason. So yeah, you never know. Exploring these places is fun though.
  • Can’t help but to think the “eye” of the tower casts a spotlight on something special during a certain time
  • These old world ruins are just amazing to ponder upon--thank you for sharing your botg footage--much appreciated! :)
  • I’ve been watching you about three months and I absolutely love it. I’m 80 years old. I feel so calm and relax. You explain everything so nice. I like when you cook and your adventures are delightful. I love it too much. I will join, but since I don’t know anything aboutcomputers, I’ll have my daughter do it for me. I will continue watching you. I will have a very calming on people. I believe you’re so graceful soft-spoken everything you do is nice.😢❤
  • Every time we see you uploaded a video, we stop whatever we were watching and click on Desert Drifter!!!
  • so so so stoked I’m not insane for constantly thinking about locations that could be significant due to alignments with the cosmos through out time hidden in “plain sight”
