Finally tracked down the original version of Robert "I WILL NOT FREEBASE COCAINE" Howell from The Sylvan Brothers Comedy Hour which aired on Nashvillle Community Access TV in the mid- to late-Eighties.

If you've seen the black and white version of "I WILL NOT FREEBASE COCAINE," you now get to see the original version and enjoy the interplay between Shane Caldwell (freebaser) and Howard Cox ("Lance Russell").

And remember-- DON'T LET "IT" GET TO YOU!!!

Here's a clip from 1995 of Shane Caldwell ("Robert Howell" in this video) doing his character Troy Duke, a Tennessee farmer who's fed up with long-haired hippies dressed up like circus freaks. It says "Hard Rock Cafe" on it, so I guess that means that Mr. Caldwell made it to the semi-big time with his routines... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45c4xx1B6s8

"I love Sally, so she safe 363 days a year but them other two.." this is straight comedy, I can't stop laughing. .

As an addict in recovery, I appreciate his strong assertive boundaries and certitude about freebasing while driving a moving vehicle or at the alter during a church service. Keep up the good work!

Twice a year. The first half and the last half. Reminds me of Mitch Hedberg saying “I used to do drugs. Still do, but I also USED TO” 🤣🤣🤣👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I have no earthly idea how his co star kept a straight serious face this entire time, thats some damn good acting!
  • @kzilla3
When he goes NOW ILL DO SOME TOOT NOW I lose it EVERYTIME 🤣
  • Ah the good ol days when you could actually get a freebasing habit doing yard work in Pegram Tennessee. How Lance was able to hold it together & not burst out in laughter is nothing short of remarkable. Late 80s public access was better than most of the garbage on TV today. Comedy gold
  • Love how the amount of toot he alloted himself increased as he went on.
  • This video was a little longer then I expected so ya know I had ta pull out that ol pipe and base!

"I'll do a little toot if somebody offer it to me...it's just impolite" 😆🤣😆🤣
  • As a Florida man I approve of this message. Just as a historian.
  • this skit ... it doesnt get old.. its a real classic.... even after having it watched 20 times, its still funny.. good stuff. Ahead of its time

This is officially the funniest shit I've ever seen .This guy was ahead of his time on this type of comedy ,still funny after all these years .
  • After I got the humor of this, I've been watching it over and over and loving it more every time. I laughed so hard I started crying. This is brilliant, comedic gold, better than 95% of SNL skits.

As a lifelong person from the south, while it's a negative stereotype, this this is a wonderfully hilarious and perfectly acted version. It's so perfect that it's easy to forget it's acted.
