  • At the end when you said Mob Psycho is a story about kindness, i'm reminded of an interview with ONE where he's asked what spurned the idea of Mob Psycho 100, and he answered that he wanted to write a story that felt kind. He certainly achieved that so well

In the shinoro arc, reigen not only beats every psychic at rock, paper, scissors, but he can also tell that she’s possessed when none of the psychics can. He might not have psychic powers, but his special power is reading people. Great video.
  • Is just a spectacular detail, that Reigen didn't drink a drop of alcohol and he vomits because he was having a panic attack.

I love how reigen always being the 'adult' in the group (as he should) whenever those kids deal with things even if it's fighting evil espers lol
  • The thing I love the absolute most about Reigen (I love everything about him honestly) is that he is maybe the ONLY adult I've ever seen in a action manga and anime that reacts like a real adult should. Multiple times, especially in the fight at the end of s1, you see his focus begin to shift to trying to find a way for the children to get out safely. He is an adult, they are children, and even though they are all technically stronger than him, and in theory, could handle the situation, he sees that at it's roots, this is a dangerous situation, and they shouldn't have to fight in the first place. He doesn't care if it's seen as "giving up." Don't get me wrong, I love the good ol' teen hero whose master teaches him how to handle a battle, but I just adore an adult seeing that this is dangerous, and that they need to get out instead.

I’m so glad Bones studio went so hard on the scene of Reigen running to help Mob. From showing him taking off his shoes, to playing the opening song of the first episode with the song ending as he desperately reaches out for Mob, it was perfection
  • @VidalMoon
It truly does take a 40 minute video to fully grasp Reigen Arataka.
  • Mob and Reigen’s relationship makes me so happy, he cares so much about this kid, and mob cares about him. The fact he, knowing full we he doesn’t have powers, still went up again the largest esper planning to take over world with only a gun to save him always grabbed my in the heart
  • I will never not smile at the "you're a genuinely good person" line from Mob, at the end of the sepration arc
  • Honestly, at worst mob and reigen's relationship is co-dependent and at best the most responsible adult in anime and the most hardworking teenager, both are the embodiment of trying their best.
  • He is so well written that his ungodly charisma skill and insane ways to talk his way out of tough situations and manipulate people feels just as intense and equal to Mob’s psychic abilities and fight scenes, he’s OP in his own way lol
  • When it comes to Reigens kindness I think something could've been said about how despite being a con artist, Reigens rates are super cheap and he even accepts non monetary compensation from clients who are struggling like the farmer. Also Reigen spoiler I feel like the Rusty curse arc(?) shouldve had some coverage, given that Reigen was willing to die for Tomoe despite not wanting her at the office in the first place. It's one thing to sacrifice your life for someone important you have cared for years, like with him and Mob. It's another to still unflinchingly accept a death curse to save someone you're not as familiar and have viewed mostly as a nuisance.
  • The amount of time I’ve cried from Reigen’s growth and relationship with Mob… I’m not sure if it’s healthy or not, but it’s definitely something. Anyhow, I absolutely adore this video and I hope more people get to watch it!💕
  • I don't know about you, but Reigen Arataka helps me cope with my imposter syndrome. Whenever I receive awards or recognition for my achievements, I often feel undeserving and experience unnecessary guilt. Reigen's message to Mob in the episode 'Confession' not only changed Mob but also changed my perspective. The world remains the same whether we display our talents or make mistakes. There is no need to feel guilty or owe anything to others. He helps me embracing my nature as a human. I appreciate this quality in Reigen, which makes him exceptional compared to most anime characters. That's why I love Reigen.
  • Just finished MP100 today. Holy shit, forget about the memes. Reigen is one of the most well written anime characters. He deserves all the love and praises he gets.
  • This video absolutely hits the nail on the head with Reigen. But as a side note that I find interesting-... Beyond Reigen's kindness and strength of character, I think his insane dedication and his emotional maturity are something else that made him the only person who could've mentored Mob. Like, not many people talk about this, but Reigen doesn't half-ass much, and that includes being a psychic, even if a phony one. He's clearly incredibly well researched on psychic abilities, evil spirits, the paranormal, etc. He was able to point out perfectly by symptoms alone what the boy on TV in the separation arc was possessed by, even if it was just acting. And when he borrows Mobs powers in the Claw Arc, despite the monolithic degree of power he's just absorbed and despite having zero real experience wielding any psychic powers, let alone the most powerful psychic abilities (presumably) to ever exist, he's able to wield them with a mastery, calmness, and ease that puts even Mob to shame with his multiple years of experience with them. Reigen had no idea what Mob was dealing with when it came to his powers and emotions (as he says himself in the Mob Arc) in part because Mob more often than not hid his true feelings, and in my mind, because he, some random guy, could easily control such strong abilities when they were given to him. Why is this? Frankly I think it's obvious that since Mob's outbursts correlating with loss of control is a frequent occurrence, we can assume emotions and psychic abilities are linked. Mob's just a middle school student, so of course he's bound to have trouble, but Reigen is so emotionally mature/intelligent, even compared to many adults, that it only makes sense he would have a strong grasp on psychic powers, no matter how strong. Essentially his ideal of psychic powers not being more than a character feature, manifested directly into them holding the same trivial importance to him as he views them normally, allowing for perfect control. Self Actualization I guess would be the term. He instilled this virtue in Mob, which meant that once Mob confronted the trauma of past outbursts, and ongoing trauma of worrying about the next one, putting an end to holding his emotions in, he could carry this mentality with him, internalizing the good his powers have brought to him over the bad and returning to being his full self again. Basically TL;DR, Reigen is the perfect mentor to Mob not only because of who he is as a person, but his skill-set as a (fake) psychic.
  • “Speak of the devil, Reigen has begun to make his way toward the disaster that Mob is causing” 🎤IF EVERYONE IS NOT SPECIAL, MAYBE YOU CAN BE WHAT YOU WANT TO BE 🎤
  • With the final episode of the series, Reigen solidified just how much better of a mentor he is than most anime mentors.
  • @Nokyyyyy
The fun thing about the time where he was tricked by the TV show is that he totally understood the entire situation from the moment he went in. He saw that the kid wasn't possessed too but continued for the show
  • @LemoneVR
Reigen is when you put everything on charisma. Reigens charisma level is too high to be able to be written in a YouTube comment, no computer could process the amount of Charisma he has. Reigen was born with something more powerful than Psychic powers, he was born with Charisma. (SPOILER) He stopped Mob while Mob was in ???% mode because of his Charisma, some may say he only stopped Mob because Mob got controlled of himself. That is false, Mob snapped out of it because of Reigen.
