Can you imagine just dropping a bomb arbitrarily in some random unmarked spot in Hyrule Field and just finding a grotto that has a standard wooden chest that holds the triforce? You just find it there and it does absolutely nothing.
  • Watching this after triforce % debut at AGDQ makes me realize how impressive that really was.

It's mind-blowing to see a rumor more than two decades old still being a subject of debate.

I think the footage where Link finds the Triforce was just the devs showing off what Link's iconic "item get" pose looked like in 3D. Of course, obtaining the Triforce may have been an idea that was tossed around early in development, but the footage really can't be used as evidence for it. I mean, does anyone really think you'd just find the complete Triforce sitting in a chest somewhere? Some may argue that it was meant to be obtained after beating the final boss, echoing the ending of ALttP. But then you'd have to ignore the only other evidence of its inclusion, the outline on the status screen. Because what would be the point of having it filled in right before the credits rolled?
  • I feel it should be noted that in the inventory screen for the medallions, the Triforce symbol in the centre of the hexagon isn't indentation but actually embossing as the triangles protrude outward, as you can see by the shadows going only in certain directions. Obviously, with a detail like this, it was never intended the Triforce would fill up that area.

I never thought you could get the triforce as an item in OOT. On the quest status screen, it always felt like the medallion spots were indented, while the triforce were raised up. Actually the songs, heart peices, and the 3 stones also seemed indented to me. So the only thing to look raised as opposed to indented was the triforce, signifying that it wasn't obtainable.

I love this video. It makes me miss being a kid in the 90s. There was a mystique in not knowing what secrets a game might have held. I personally had heard a lot about the Unicorn Fountain theory as a kid. Today's kids wouldn't understand.

The triforce Of courage is literally in him. So he’s using......himself.

I can believe that early in development they were mostly following the LttP formula, which would result in Link obtaining the Triforce during the ending. Then of course things change a ton as they keep working, and we get the final ending where Link goes back in time.

something that always caught my attention was the pit in Zora's domain. By the ladder out of the water, there is a super deep hole that you can't dive into with even the golden scale, and as an adult Zora's domain is frozen over, meaning you can't use the iron boots. I'm not into hacking or modding, so could I request you cover that somehow? I know i could probably find videos elsewhere, but i'm always skeptical, and would just trust you more.

I was there, man! I was a teenager at the time combing through the early days of the internet, reading all sorts of rumors about how to get the Triforce in Ocarina of Time. Those rumors were as common as the ones about how to bring Aerith back in FFVII. I found a "secret" method to obtain the Triforce and followed all the obscure steps. There was like a dozen or so steps and they were all seemingly random and arbitrary. But I followed them all. The final step was to throw a bomb into the dark spot in the center of the lava beneath Ganon's castle. I did that, and then... nothing. What an absolute waste of time. Stupid trolls! 😂😅

This video is amazing for bringing back heavy 90s nostalgia! I vividly remember following a rumour of the triforce being located in the area where Jabu Jabu used to be. You had to climb up to the secret cave opening and look in a certain direction where you could (supposedly) see the triangles far away between some trees. It wasn't that convincing but it was probably where my love for video game theories and easter eggs began.

Ah, brings back memories. I remember a fan landing site I used to frequent had a collection of these "How to obtain the Triforce" walk-throughs, all with a big disclaimer at the top saying none of them worked and were featured as essentially fanfic. Some of them were pretty creative and bizarre. I recall vaguely one involved doing an obscure task to get a Big Bomb, feeding it to JabuJabu to explode him, scooping his ashes into a bottle, then dumping the ashes somewhere as part of the quest. Lots of them also featured button inputs or other other power/reset tricks on the still image after the credits. Good times.

Sure it is, if you have enough arms and superhuman precision and endurance.
  • @ZeldaLore
I find it hilarious how this quest to find the triforce mirrors the events of the Triforce War, where people fought against each other for information on the whereabouts of the Triforce xD
  • I want to see Nintendo make an homage to all the crazy rumors and put an absurd, obscure quest in a future Zelda game that looks like it will lead to the Triforce. Going all over and performing random actions, maybe throw in special items to make it seem more real. And then at the end you just get a green rupee or something.

rendered speechless by the triforce? dude he is speechless the entire game
  • @AppleJackSix
Nothing screams “fake” about a rumor more than lack of proof. Especially if you say you’ll drop hints then finally reveal it later.
