Why Hip Hop Doesn't Respect French Montana

From legends such as Jay Z & Eminem to today’s hottest rappers like Lil Baby & Lil Durk, every artist that’s topped the charts or entered the top tier list has reached a point where they’ve either had to evolve and finetune their sound or get out of the way. But if you asked a hip-hop head to categorize or define the sound of the Morrocan-born, multi-platinum selling French Montana, they’d be hard pushed to nail down exactly where his appeal lies. Or even worse, pinpoint what he brings to the table that no one else can.

Diddy editing him out the pic was hilarious, and so disrespectful 🤣
  • Imagine performing all your hits and never being able to perform the whole song because it's feature heavy...
  • The issue is not the constant features. It's the fact that the features always make the song and you feel like skipping his verse.
  • @LexxLeoppard
Nobody else is the music industry has ever managed to be both successful and irrelevant at the same time. 😎
  • French is the only artist to have a all time dope hook ( stay scheming) and one of the worst verses ( stay scheming) on the same damn song. Legendary shit.
  • @RedAnimal100
French sounds salty he isn’t celebrated like J cole or Kendrick. His features always carry him.

i personally respect french Montana, because he wouldn't be there if he gives up at the first time he failed, and when his father left them alone in the USA, and he should take care of his mother and two brothers and be the father, he doesn't care about what other people said, that he can't make it, and even English wasn't his first or second language, but he did it, big respect french.
  • @El_popi_negro
He knows his strengths and plays to them. More people would be successful in life if they got out of their own way. Props to french.

Unforgettable is a Swae Lee track. It was his before French Hopped on it and Swae is the reason it's a hit. When you think of the song you only think of Swae and French is an afterthought. *For all the French Fans that came out the cuts to defend him and his mediocrity under this comment, I hope y'all buy and stream his album. If it does 100k first week I'll apologize. ** 😂 Y'all let ya man's down. He went Triple Binder Paper 1st week Damn, even I wanted him to do at least 50k

Great timing with French goin off on Twitter about everybody’s “amnesia” 😂 French Montana was all over hip hop in the 2010s but he’s just felt like he was in the room with greats rather than being one of them. NOT TO MENTION when we found out he was fakin his streams too! -T.

French is the hip-hop equivalent of the guy that does nothing but vh1 roasts.
  • @SSJ4Ty
It's definitely telling seeing how salty he gets when discussing kendrick. Kendrick is revered and love for not only being hip-hop, but himself. I hate to say it but French is mad insecure and it shows.

Another dream come true, Voice overing! Thank you to the people at HipHopMadness. Edit: I keep having to clarify this, but I am reading a script, I’m just doing voiceover work, meaning that anything that I said about French Montana isn’t of my own opinion. I actually happen to enjoy him and thought his last album was good 🤣

Ain't nothing wrong with being the sidekick too. You just gotta know your place in the game versus try to claim you can go toe to toe with one of the GOATS I don't ever bump French Montana in the whip but he played the game smartly and I gotta commend him for it. Still stupid to claim GOAT status

When it comes to French Montana, the ONLY thing I can say is, whether if the song was his or not, the features are the reason why he's where he's at right now... Simply because he always hung around or collaborated with everyone that was poppin' at the time, INCLUDING DJ KHALED.
  • @zilllathegod
well certain people remember the early coke boy era where he was respected more underground, some of the stuff he did with harry and max b early still goes extra hard and anyone who saw him then has to respect the success he has had since then
  • He’s kind of like G Eazy. He just makes hit records. And sometimes, hit records aren’t enough
  • @TellyCasper
2009-2011 Coke Boys/Coke Wave era French Montana for sure used to put out heat His collabs with Max B are fire and he helped put Harry Fraud on the map
  • @___zeke___7581
Honestly I’ve always known him as that guy who’s featured in songs that I’ve never cared to listen too. Atleast he’s successful
  • @BenDover-zd5xn
If you’re a Max B fan you’ll understand how French evolved and deserves hell of respect. CokeWave 🌊
