In this lecture, I discuss the creation stories in Genesis, the first book of the Bible, and describe the parallels with the stories of the development of the Buddha from childhood to early adulthood, using the archetypal schema developed previous in the course.

  • These are the videos the Peterson haters have never taken the time to watch. Love hearing his thoughts on these subjects.
  • Finding Jordan Peterson has changed my life. I'm not sure if he knows or not the impact he is making right now. If you're reading this Jordan I would like to just say thank you.
  • "Well YES!!!, What ELSE would it be?!" I love it when he says stuff like this.
  • @jag831
Love that he always begins lectures/interviews/Speaks/whatever, very appeased, very slow, and thinking more than what he says. Maybe, for some, he could even look doubtful or insecure. BUT, After an hour, he's completely warmed up, on fire and escalates into an intellectual freight train.

If there was an ultimate guide to parenting, these lectures are damn close to it. Dr. Peterson made it painfully clear in my mind that the art of parenting is one and the same as the art of being a good person.
  • @seankessel3867
This knowledge is priceless. The world owes Dr. Peterson a great debt for producing & publishing these lectures.

52:07 — “your father is lying dead in the library”... take the spirit out of books and manifest it out in the world.. wake/ pull HIM up from the books!! 👉🏻Great!!
  • This far beats bloody news and tv... in my spare time, when not reading or listening to music, I am watching/listening to this. This has motivated me to face many fears and take on the dragon I always avoided, and I am better for it.

The first thing I think when I see this is like, geez, thank God you didn't see this last night, eh? You might think you can just see this video online and not watch it immediately, and it's like, okay, first of all, WRONG, you CAN'T, and not because the video has some magic power--it's because your impulse control is Not That Good. Right. And so maybe you're a little weak willed, maybe your room is a bloody mess while you're listening to the lecture, and it's 1am and you have work in the morning, and you're snacking--right--so, that's not to say you're a bad person, it's just that you have Things To Sort Oat in your immediate vicinity, and man, lemme tell ya, if you start sorting those things out, you have NO IDEA what can come of it. You could eventually, down the line--and this is LONG TERM, man, it takes patience--you could resist that temptation to watch the new Jordan B Peterson video, and maybe you wouldn't feel so terrible quite so much of the time, and maybe you'd quit staying up late and snacking--who knows? Only you can find oat. But you'll definitely see results, that's a FACT. And I'd wager you'll find them quite positive.
  • @A_Koenig
Prof. Peterson's work might be among the most important philosophical endeavors of this emerging century... roughly speaking!
  • I've come back and listened to this lecture series every year since it came out
  • @passionfly1
52:09 — “your father is lying dead in the library”... This part is SO DARN POWERFUL! JEEEEEZEUS!! I am so glad I came across this part and understood it!
  • @TheOnlyStevieG
Finally, a man that actually produces viable theories and doesn't just spew PC pseudo intellectual rhetorical nonsense.
  • @MediaMalable
I actually feel comfortable saying that this is almost certainly the deepest, most complex, most historically and scientifically grounded exploration of the Adam and Eve story that has ever been told. The last 45 minutes or so of this lecture is an absolutely mind-boggling adventure into the past and into the self. Jaw-dropping.
  • This is the first time in a while I've happily read the comments section, absolutely fantastic. That I'm fortunate to hear this man articulate the collective wisdom he's accumulated, formulated, and disseminated is a great honor. I hope to use it wisely.
  • @billbaxter3800
I hope these kids know how fortunate they are to have this genius as their professor. Every thing he says is golden - pearls iif wisdom beyond monetary value. He's teaching them how to be wise. Great man.
  • @seanbandas1520
I wish upon a star to be able to shake this Titan's hand in my lifetime. Truly special man.
  • @jonne7725
i wish it was possible to take smaller snippets of this, but i don't feel that it makes justice for these videos. they aren't just golden nuggets, they're diamonds so huge that you would need a gigantic crane to move it. I love it
  • @e.mcm.9076
I don't watch TV, I watch Dr. Jordan B. Peterson.
  • @chris432t6
JP's passion is wonderfully contagious. Like a great piece of music or art. Priceless and timeless🌞
