Oh boy another bad faith video that definitely hasn't read any of the material
  • The High Republic isn't being talked about because nobody is really reading it and 99% of people don't give a damn about that trash XD
  • The old republic is by far superior. In every way. In every detail. As per normal for Disney Star Wars.

Well, they are writing what they know. And what they know is how to be morally bankrupt solipsictic egoists.
  • Personally, I find all of Disney Starwars to be equally terrible. Never forget and never forgive the fact that all roads lead to the Disney Trilogy. No amount of pre-sequel spin-off shows will ever fix or change that.

The big difference between the High Republic and the Acolyte is that one is a cheap fanfic that nobody will ever acknowledge as canon, and the other one is a 180M fanfic that nobody will ever acknowledge.

To be fair, I thought the manga about a younger Princess Leia was pretty good. So, naturally, it would appear that disney stopped the manga after only 2 books.
  • "what if good guy bad?" writing is hard to pull off, otherwise it's just stuoid
  • Comic writers are to writing as video games journalists are to journalism. They are a combination of being willing to work for near nothing as long as they can writer their glorified fan-fics into media, while also being so incompetent that they couldn't do much else anywhere else.
  • Part of the problem with collecting comic books nowadays is the price as well, I am certainly not spending 5 dollars an issue to read Disney star wars BS
  • High Republic is bad. New Republic is comically stupid to set up the 1st Order. Disney’s Star Wars in general is God awful. Edit: The Jedi sacrificing an entire planet? I feel like they wouldn’t do that. The Jedi wouldn’t sacrifice a planet so that a Padawan could try to save it. That’d cause a wound in the force but it’s also just morally wrong.
  • Comics in France are going strong. Once more get translated into English then more people will know about them. It is only American comics that are on the decline.

So I'm a very casual Star Wars viewer. So maybe I'm missing something or are just unaware. But I always thought that the intention of the prequels and the depiction of the Jedi there was to show that the Jedi had become flawed. They were arrogant, complacent, and controlling. But were ultimately still the good guys, and their biggest failure was their flaws allowed a truly evil force to subvert them. Like it wasn't a good thing that they were killed off. From what I've seen in this video and others is that the new take on the Jedi is that they are fundamentally just as bad as the Sith.

Anytime I see The High Republic title, I get Vietnam flashbacks of the worst moments: ANCAP Edgelord, Yoda's character assassination, Space Israel, The Green "My-Tragic-Backstory" Jihadi and THOSE EYES!!! XD

Mom can we have the old republic? No we have the old republic at home The old republic at home: the high republic
  • Wow. I thought the "High Republic" was supposed to be like the golden age of the "Old Republic", thousands of years BBY.
  • >Disney Star Wars Trilogy: Girlboss >Rogue One: Girlboss >Solo movie: Main character sidelined for Girlboss >Mandalorian: Main character sidelined for Girlboss >Andor: Main character sidelined for Girlboss >Book of Boba Fett: Main Character sidelined for Girlboss >Ahsoka: Girlboss >Acolyte: Double Girlboss >Literally anything Star Wars since Disney purchased it: Girlboss Guys I'm thinking we need more female representation
  • The High Republic feels like they wanted to explain why the shroud of the dark side came into being but they hired lazy writers, but in reality they hired terrible writers who wanted tell a more mythical story while also trying to tell a more grounded story.
